Al-ʿAqīdah aṭ-Ṭaḥāwiyya Arabic: العقيدة الطحاوية is a popular exposition of Sunni Muslim doctrine written by the tenth-century Egyptian theologian and Hanafi jurist Abu Ja'far Ahmad at-Tahawi.[1][2] There are a number of Muslim commentaries of the Tahawiyyah including ones by Qādī Ismā‘īl ibn Ibrāhīm al-Shaybānī (d. 629 AH), Abū Hafs Sirāj al-Dīn al-Ghaznawī (d. 773 AH), Ibn Abī l-ʿIzz (792 AH) and 'Abd al-Ghani al-Maydani (d. 1298 AH). It comprises 105 key points that list the essential matters in the creed of the Ahlus Sunnah wa`l Jama`ah[citation needed].
