Summary
Wide field photo of the Crux (Southern Cross) constellation. The Coalsack Dark Nebula can be seen as the dark area below-right in the constellation. This photo was taken under foggy skies, causing the stars to become large glowing orbs. Image was created using 15 × 182 second (45 mins total) sub exposures taken with a stock Canon EOS 5D Mark II and 100 mm f/2.8L IS Macro lens at f/4 and ISO 1600 mounted on an Astrotrac equatorial mount, stacked using Deep Sky Stacker and finished using Adobe Photoshop CS5.
