File:Grant Highway Markers, Bartlett, Illinois.jpg

Summary
7-9 foot concrete markers on Old Lake Street in Bartlett, Illinois. Per this link, "The road has been blazed with pole markings and signboards, and the work of installing concrete marker posts, nine feet high already has been started. The Grant Highway comes out of Chicago by way of Lake street road and crosses DuPage county, where scarifying, rolling, and surfacing will be done this spring [1916]."
The worn out text on the poles refer to the "Elgin Motor Club" (1913-1952) and the "Aurora Motor Club", two organizations that worked to build better roads to downtown Chicago.
