The 2016 Egypt Cup (also known as Obour Land Egypt Cup for sponsorship reasons)[1] is the 84th season of the Egypt Cup since its establishment in 1921. The winners will assure a place in the 2017 CAF Confederation Cup.

Zamalek are the defending champions, having defeated their rivals Al Ahly in the previous final.

Qualification

Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Basically the teams of the minor leagues in Egypt contend in a 112 team elimination contest until 14 teams are left, along the 18 Premier League, the official bracket starts with these 32 teams, with only two matches containing two premier league teams facing eachother at round 1.

If a match ended as a draw in this round, the two teams go straight to penalty shootout.
