The 2017–18 Southern Combination Football League season will be the 92nd in the history of the competition, which lies at levels 9 and 10 of the English football league system.

Premier Division

Southern Combination Premier Division

The Premier Division will consist of 20 clubs, the same as last season, after Wick and Hailsham Town were relegated to Division One, and Haywards Heath Town were promoted to Isthmian League Division One South. A.F.C. Uckfield Town are also provisionally relegated but may receive a reprieve.

Three clubs joined the division:

• East Preston – promoted from Division One
• Saltdean United – promoted from Division One
• Three Bidges – relegated from Isthmian League Division One South

Division One

Southern Combination Division One

Division One is likely to consist of 19 clubs, increased from 17 the previous season, after East Preston and Saltdean United were promoted to the Premier Division. AFC Uckfield Town have provisionally been relegated to this division but may be reprieved. AFC Varndeanians and St Francis Rangers have provisionally been relegated from this division but may be reprieved.

Four clubs joined the division:

• Hailsham Town – relegated from the Premier Division
• Sidlesham – promoted from Division Two
• Wick – relegated from the Premier Division

Division Two should consist of 14 clubs, two fewer than the previous season, after Sidlesham were promoted to Division One, and A.F.C. Roffey Club resigned from the league.

Promotion from this division depends on ground grading as well as league position.
