The 2018–19 Sheffield Shield season is the 117th season of the Sheffield Shield, the domestic first-class cricket competition in Australia. It is scheduled to begin on 16 October 2018 and finish on 1 April 2019.[1] For the first time in six seasons, the entire season will be played as day fixtures, and feature no day/night fixtures.[2] The first five rounds will take place prior to the international test series again India. Queensland are the defending champions.
