Premise

A group of tight-knit friends from college manage to snag an incredible deal on an Airbnb rental for the year's most prominent music festival. However, their weekend takes a deadly turn when members of the group start getting killed off. As they investigate the mysterious murders, they come to realize that each death is linked to one of the seven deadly sins.[1]

Production

In March 2022, Deadline reported that Cineverse (then known as Cinedigm) and Roundtable Entertainment entered a $15 million 10-film deal to co-finance and co-own the intellectual property of original films, with AMFAD All My Friends Are Dead being the first to be produced from the deal.[1] It was fully financed by Banc of California and Budding Equity, among others.[2] The screenplay was written by Josh Sims and Jessica Sarah Flaum.[1] Kevin Greutert was originally attached to direct, but in October Marcus Dunstan was hired as a replacement.[1][3]

In February 2023, Jade Pettyjohn and JoJo Siwa were cast in leading roles.[4] That following May, Jennifer Ens, Ali Fumiko Whitney, Justin Derickson, Julian Haig, Cardi Wong, Jack Doupe-Smith and Michaella Russell were cast in supporting roles.[5]

Principal photography was originally scheduled to begin in November 2022,[1] but instead took place in Vancouver from May 3 to May 19, 2023.[6] Rostislav Vaynshtok composed the film score.[7]

Release

AMFAD All My Friends Are Dead is set to be released in the United States by Cineverse in mid 2024, including a censored version for TV.[8] Film Mode Entertainment screened the film for international buyers at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival on February 15 and 19.[8]
