Ahmet Atayev (Turkmen: Ahmet Ataýew; born 19 September 1990) is a Turkmen footballer playing for FC Altyn Asyr of the Ýokary Liga as a midfielder.[2] He received his first national team cap against Romania on 27 January 2012.

Club career

He started playing football from 6 years. First coach Atamyrat Jumamuradov in Youth sport school of Bagyr (Ahal Region).[3]

He began his professional career in Ashgabat, from 2007 to 2010 he played for FC Talyp Sporty.[4]

The first half of the 2011 season held in FC Aşgabat. The second part he played for FC HTTU, which included in 2011 for the first time won the Cup of Turkmenistan, and in 2013 became the first champion 2013 Ýokary Liga.[5]

Since 2014 playing for Altyn Asyr FK.[6][7] As part of that in 2014 and 2015 he won the title of champion of Turkmenistan, and 2015 Turkmenistan Cup, as well as the 2015 Turkmenistan Super Cup. At the end of 2015 season was voted the best player of the 2015 Ýokary Liga.[8]

International career

He played for the Olympic team of Turkmenistan in the Asian Football Confederation's Pre-Olympic Tournament.

Ataýew made his senior national team debut on 27 January 2012, in an friendly match against Romania.[9] The captain of the national team from 2015.[10][11]
