Alfred Ernest "Alf" Bauman (January 3, 1920 — May 20, 1980) was an American football player from Chicago, Illinois. He attended Northwestern University where he played for the Wildcats from 1939-1941 alongside his friend and high school football teammate, Bill DeCorrevont who also played for both Austin High School and Northwestern University. In 1940, he was a consensus All-American, having been selected as a first-team All-American at the tackle position by the United Press, Hearst Newspapers, Collier's Weekly, New York Sun, and Walter Camp Football Foundation. He was also designated as national lineman of the year in 1940.[1] In 1941, he was named Northwestern's Most Valuable Player. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 2nd round (15th pick overall) of the 1942 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in the National Football League from 1947-1950 for the Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Rockets and Chicago Bears. He played in a total of 34 NFL games.
