Andrew James "Andy" Parry (born 13 September 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a defender or midfielder for National League club Barrow.

Youth career

Born in Liverpool, Merseyside, Parry was part of the youth set-up at Lancashire club Blackburn Rovers between 2007 and 2011.[3]

Club career

Early career

Parry was released from Blackburn Rovers in the summer of 2011 without being offered a professional contract and later joined Conference Premier club Kettering Town.[4] He made his debut and only appearance for the club in the 3–2 home win over Newport County.[5]

He went on trial with Northern Premier League Division One North club Radcliffe Borough on 9 November 2011.[6][7] On 12 November, Parry made his league debut for Radcliffe Borough in a 2–2 draw against Mossley.[8] Parry played in the 2–2 draw at Fleetwood Town on 15 November in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy in which he scored the winning penalty to eliminate Fleetwood from the competition.[9] His final appearance for the club was in the 10–3 thrashing of Harrogate Railway Athletic in which Parry scored two goals.[10]

Southport

On 24 November, Parry was transferred to Conference Premier club Southport.[11] He made his debut for the club, coming on as a 78th-minute substitute in the 1–0 away win at Stockport County.[12] Parry's first goal for the club came in the 2012–13 season on 29 September 2012 when he scored in the 3–1 away defeat at Luton Town.[13] On 13 October 2012, he scored once more in the 3–2 away win at Woking.[14]

Luton Town

On 1 May 2013, Parry joined Conference Premier club Luton Town for an undisclosed fee.[15] He started the season as a regular in the side, primarily playing in central midfield, though suffered with injuries throughout the latter half of the campaign. Luton won promotion to League Two, with Parry playing in 23 league games, scoring three goals.[5]

He was loaned to Conference Premier side AFC Telford United in October 2014,[16] where he made 10 league appearances.[5] He was then loaned out to former club Southport for one month in January 2015,[17] playing in four games.[5] He returned to Luton but failed to make an appearance from the substitute's bench and was placed on the transfer list at the end of the season.[18]

On 21 August 2015, Parry joined National League club Altrincham on a one-month loan.[19] He made his debut for the club on 22 August in the 2–1 away defeat at Dover Athletic.[20] On 23 September 2015, his loan deal with Altrincham was extended by a further month until 24 October 2015.[21] His final appearance for the club came in the 3–1 home defeat to FC Halifax Town.[22] He returned to Luton early before completing his extended loan deal due to two injuries disrupting his playing time.[23]

On 14 January 2016, Parry joined National League club Barrow on a one-month loan deal.[24]

Barrow

On 1 February 2016, Luton came to a mutual agreement with Parry to cancel his contract.[25] Subsequently, he signed a permanent contract with Barrow until the end of the 2015–16 season.[26] Parry made 18 appearances for the club in all competitions during the season.[5]
