Arpita Chatterjee (née Pal; Bengali: অর্পিতা) is an Indian film actress, who mostly appears in the Tollywood film industry of West Bengal in India.[1][2][3][4][5][6] She is the present wife of Prosenjit Chatterjee. She made her film debut in 1999 with the film Tumi Ele Tai, directed by Prabhat Roy.
She interrupted her film career to focus on family life but has since returned to acting. Some of the films which made Arpita a name in the film fraternity include Deba, Debdas, Inqlab,Prem Shakti, Pratarok, Dada Thakur,Pratibad, Utsab and Anupama. Her comeback film was Ekti Tarar Khonje, directed by Anirudhya Roychoudhury.
She has not only acted in films of renowned directors like Shakti Samanta and Rituporno Ghosh but also appeared in commercials for ITC and Saffola. She has been a part of Pradip Sorcar’s project recently. Ekti tarar khonje and Laboratory, her most recent films, have received positive reviews.
She is also an able singer and dancer.
She is set to make her Bollywood debut[when?] with Shab, directed by Onir.
