Benjamin "Ben" King (born March 22, 1989) is an American professional road racing cyclist who rides for UCI ProTeam Cannondale.[1][2] King turned professional in 2008.[2]
Personal
Born on March 22, 1989, in Richmond, Virginia, King spent his adolescence in North Garden, Virginia, United States.[3][4] King resides in North Garden, Virginia,[5][6] and Lucca, Tuscany, Italy.[7][8] King graduated from Monticello High School, in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2007.[9][10] He attended Virginia Tech, in Blacksburg, Virginia, between 2008 and 2009.[11][12] King is a Christian.[11][13]
Career
King rode for Kelly Benefit Strategies–Medifast, a UCI ConTeam, in 2008.[14][15] King rode with Trek–Livestrong, a UCI ConTeam, for the 2009 and 2010 seasons.[16][17]
In September 2010, he won the National Road Race Championships.[18][19] King signed with Team RadioShack, a UCI ProTeam, for the 2011 season.[18][19] King signed with RadioShack–Nissan, a UCI ProTeam, for the 2012 season.[20][21] He remained with RadioShack–Leopard the following year.[22][23]
King signed with Garmin–Sharp, a UCI ProTeam, for the 2014 and 2015 seasons.[24][25][26] In March 2015, King won Stage 1 of the Critérium International.[27][28] He was named in the start list for the 2015 Vuelta a España.[29]
