Broughton River (South Australia)

The Broughton River (Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found.) is a river in South Australia. The river flows from Spalding in the Mid North of South Australia to its confluence with Crystal Brook on to the Spencer Gulf. Its mouth is located approximately 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Port Broughton and 20 kilometres (12 mi) south west of Port Pirie.[1]

The river was named by Edward John Eyre after William Broughton.

North-side tributaries include Bundaleer Creek and Freshwater Creek. South-side tributaries include Hill River, Hutt River, Yackamoorundie Creek, Crystal Brook and Rocky River.[2]
