Canadore College is a college of applied arts and technology located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada. It was founded in 1967 as a campus of Sudbury's Cambrian College, and became an independent institution in 1972. The enabling legislation is the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities Act[1] Canadore has a full-time enrolment of 3500 students[citation needed] and it has a summer arts program, "Artsperience". The three main campuses of Canadore are the Aviation Campus, Commerce Court Campus, and the Education Centre (College Drive Campus). There are also satellite campuses in Parry Sound, Mattawa, and West Nipissing. The Education Centre is situated on a 650-acre (263 ha) wooded escarpment with over 26 km (16 mi) of wilderness trails.

Programs
Canadore offers more than 80 full-time post-secondary programs, focused in several key academic sectors: aviation, business, communication arts, health sciences, hospitality and tourism, recreation and leisure, human services, information technology, law and justice, skilled trades, apprenticeship, "Artsperience", preparatory studies, and marine nautical studies.[2]
Student life
The Wall
The Wall Bar & Grillhouse is owned and operated by the Canadore Students Representative Council and the Nipissing University Students Union.
Sports and recreation
Canadore athletes (Panthers) compete at the OCAA (Ontario Colleges Athletic Association) varsity level in men's/women's volleyball and men's basketball. There are men's/women's indoor soccer and men's hockey teams at the extramural level. Canadore also plays host to a men's club basketball team that participates in the North Bay city league. There are various other extracurricular opportunities as well. Snofest is the annual winter carnival, leagues, tournaments, and activity days.
Media
Canadore Broadcast: Radio students run the Panther Radio station, CRFM, which is broadcast only on the Internet on the station's website.[3] Students in the college's journalism program produce an online campus newspaper and podcast series, The Claw.[4]
The Television and Video Production Program streams its live feed from two studios, which are in the process of converting to HDTV. Students also learn how to produced, edit and shoot commercials, documentaries, news and short stories.
Buildings and features
Canadore shares its main campus facilities with Nipissing University. There is also a satellite campus at the Jack Garland Airport for their aviation programs, and a campus on Commerce Court where the theatre arts, police foundations, computer programming and other related programs are conducted.
- Cafeteria: Full-course meals and short-order lunches are available, along with Pizza Pizza, Mr. Sub and Tim Hortons. Access to microwaves is available.
- The Wall Bar & Grillhouse: A student operated restaurant/bar with a full roadhouse menu.
- Tim Hortons: Three on-campus locations
- The Canadore Room: lunches and dinners are offered at reasonable prices within this dining room, which is operated as part of the Hospitality/ Tourism program.
- Pal's Variety: An on-campus convenience store which offers food and snack items.
Residences
Canadore has two residences, a town-house style residence located directly beside the Education Centre (College Drive Campus), and a new apartment-style residence at the bottom of College Drive. Both residences provide single rooms.
Canadore’s town-house residence offers accommodation for 350 students and the apartment-style residence houses 146 students. The townhouses have six bedrooms, a four-piece and a two-piece washroom, a kitchen, a large combined dining and living room area and limited storage space.
The apartment-style residence, also referred to as Lower Residence, opened in September 2004. This new facility features six floors of four bedroom suites. A laundry room, mailboxes, a games room with a pool table, and assembly room can be found on the main floor.
