Note that up to 2005, and with the exception of the C30, M30, S40 and S42 (manufactured by Bosch), these phones were manufactured by Siemens AG in Germany. In 2005 the Taiwanese company BenQ Mobile acquired the financially bleeding mobile phone subsidiary from Siemens and gained the exclusive right to use Siemens trademark for 5 years.
