Chesham United is a football club in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, England, who play in the Southern League. Nicknamed "the Generals", they play home matches at The Meadow.

In 2010, chairman Charles Manchester passed the club into the hands of the Chesham United Supporters Trust and Alan Calder took over as chairman.[1] Chesham United Supporters' Trust hold only a 2.69% shareholding in the club, and has "no direct responsibility for running the parent club."[2]

History

The football team are nicknamed "The Generals" because they were once the football team of the General Baptist Church (now called Broadway Baptist Church) in Chesham. Chesham Generals merged with Chesham Town (established in 1879) to form United. Chesham Town FC was the football team of Christ Church, Chesham, founded by the Rev G.M.L. Reade the curate.

  • 1967–68 – FA Amateur Cup runner-up
  • 1973–74 – Joined Isthmian League in its new Division Two
  • 1977–78 – Division Two renamed Division One
  • 1985–86 – Relegated to Division Two North
  • 1986–87 – Champions,Isthmian League Division Two North
