Boundless, the new name for CSMA Club, is a membership club for those that work or have worked in the Civil Service or Public Sector. Offering members hundreds of fantastic experiences, events, volunteer activities and things to do all carefully crafted and selected to help you make the most out of your free time

When CSMA started in 1923, our aim was to bring people together through their shared passion for motoring and adventure. Since then our club has evolved to offer so much more, but this early pioneering spirit was the inspiration for Boundless - sharing good times, discovery, filling our free time with adventures, exploring new places and getting endless deals on everything from car insurance to days out.

History

Boundless is a mutual organisation. It was founded in 1923 by Frank Vernon Edwards, an executive officer in the Ministry of Labour who had an interest in motorcycle trials.

Cotswold Motoring Museum

Boundless is owner of the Cotswold Motoring Museum in Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire.

History

The Cotswold Motoring Museum has seven galleries packed with classic cars, motorbikes, caravans and vintage motoring items as well as a unique toy collection and motorsports exhibition. The museum is also home to the famous children's television star Brum.

Founded by Mike Cavanagh, the Cotswolds Motoring Museum first opened in 1978 in Bourton-on-the-Water, village and civil parish in Gloucestershire.

Mike Cavanagh recently returned to England from South Africa where he worked as a print manager. Mr Cavanagh is a passionate collector of motoring items, collecting since 1959 when he bought a 1929 Brooklands Riley for £30. He started to purchase motoring items from around the world and to transport them back to South Africa.

Mr Cavanagh retired in 1999 and sold the Cotswolds Motroing Museum & Toy Collection to Boundless, the largest home, motoring and leisure organisation in the UK. Since then , the building which dates back to the 18th Century and was originally a mill with a water-wheel, has continuously been improved.

Since 1999, Boundless have continued to acquire cars, motorcycles and bicycles as well as various motoring items, always improving the memorabilia collection. In 2005, Boundless expanded the museum with a new gallery covering motoring in the 1960s and 70s.
