D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology, is an Engineering College located in an area called Kasaba Bavda in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, India.

History

The college was established by Padmashri recipient Dr. D.Y. Patil in 1984.[1]

Affiliation

It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, as well as the Department of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra.[1] It is affiliated with Shivaji University.[2]

Vision and mission

The college's vision is "To become a leading institute in producing high quality technical professionals for nation building." Its mission is "To nurture students with high quality education by providing a state of the art learning environment and relevant exposure towards industry and R & D organizations."[3]

The college is divided into several departments:

Students

The undergraduate students at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering & Technology are chosen either by the Common Entrance Test (CET), management quota or AIEEE. Students for Architecture are admitted on the basis of entrance exams conducted by Council Of Architecture undertaken at the college campus itself. There are currently approximately 2000 students at the University.[4]

Activities

The departments at the college organize curricular, extra-curricular and technical activities every year which attract participation from colleges in Maharashtra.
