David Palffy

David Palffy (born March 5, 1969) is a Canadian film and television actor of Welsh-Hungarian descent. He studied law (LLB) at the University of Calgary. Palffy attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London, England, with notable appearances as Oberon in Shakespeare's Midsummer Nights Dream, Richard III, Strindberg's Miss Julie, David Mamet's Speed The Plow.

Palffy lived on a Dutch barge on the Thames river while studying in London until his break in Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket". Shortly thereafter he was cast as the lead in the acclaimed Dutch series "De Zomer van 45" followed by a few appearances with The National Theatre Company. Palffy returned to Vancouver, Canada and initiated The Yaletown Actors Lab, where he taught acting and directing.

Among his numerous credits, he played the notorious Goa'uld villains Sokar and Anubis in Stargate SG-1. He has had recurring guest appearances in series such as Cold Squad, The X-Files, First Wave, Blade: The Series, and Andromeda. He played the role of Castillo in the movie adaptation of the video game House of the Dead.

His varied successes over the years also include refurbishing, renovating and designing luxury homes in Vancouver, Canada.

Personal life

Palffy married actress Erica Durance on January 8, 2005. They resided in Vancouver. The couple's first child, a boy, was born in February 2015.[1] Palffy also has a son from a previous relationship.
