Die Aktuelle is a German language weekly women's magazine published in Essen, Germany.

History and profile

Die Aktuelle has been published since 1979.[1][2] The magazine is part of Funke Mediengruppe.[3] It is published weekly by Gong Verlag.[1][4] Its former editorial office was in Nuremberg.[1] The magazine is headquartered in Essen.[5]

In 2010 the circulation of Die Aktuelle was 388,275 copies.[4] During the second quarter of 2016 it was 353,958 copies.[6]

Until April 2023, the chief editor was Anne Hoffmann.[7] Hoffmann was dismissed in April 2023 after the magazine published a fake interview with Michael Schumacher, made with artificial intelligence.[8]
