Dinesh Sharma is the mayor of Lucknow, the capital of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. On 16 August 2014 he became the National Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party.
Political career
He was first elected as Mayor of Lucknow in 2008. He stood for re-election in 2012 and defeated his nearest rival, Neeraj Bora of the Indian National Congress by over 1.71 lakh votes.[1]
Academic career
Sharma joined the University of Lucknow in 2004. He is a professor in the commerce department.[2][3]
