Edoardo Pazzagli (born 11 April 1989) is an Italian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper. He was released by Serie A club Milan in June 2015 and join SanGiovanniValdarno in Oct 2015.

Biography

Pazzagli was a youth product of ACF Fiorentina. He was an understudy of Niccolò Manfredini during the 2006–07 U-20 competition. Pazzagli became the first choice in 2007–08 season, ahead Paolo Pincio. Pazzagli also named in the List B squad for 2007–08 UEFA Cup.[1] That season his was the fourth keeper (third in Europe) of the first team behind Sébastien Frey, Cristiano Lupatelli and Vlada Avramov (who not listed in UEFA Cup squad). His starting role in domestic youth league was taken by Andrea Seculin in January 2008.

Pazzagli graduated from the youth team at age 19. Pazzagli was loaned to Prato in 2008–09 season, which followed by Andria in 2009–10 season.

In January 2010 he left for Prato in a co-ownership deal, for a peppercorn fee of €500.[2][3]

In June 2011 he returned to Florence. His father, Andrea, died in July 2011[4] and was also a goalkeeper. Edoardo Pazzagli was the third choice keeper of la Viola, wearing no.60 shirt, however Niccolò Manfredini soon replaced Pazzagli as the third. His contract with La Viola expired on 30 June 2012. At the end of season he joined A.C. Milan on free transfer, but after spending the pre-season with the team he was sent on loan to Prima Divisione side Monza.[5]

International career

Pazzagli played once in 2006 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship qualification, as the backup of Riccardo Delfino. He was the starting keeper in the elite round, ahead Eros Corradini. He was promoted to U-19 directly and played in the 2007 UEFA European Under-19 Football Championship elite qualification, ahead Ugo Gabrieli. Pazzagli did not selected by Francesco Rocca to the 2008 edition. Instead he was picked by the feeder team of U-21, the Italy U-20 team by Massimo Piscedda in the second half of 2007–08 season.[6] However he did not made any U-20 debut. Since leaving the youth system of Fiorentina, Pazzagli did not win any official caps either. Pazzagli played an unofficial friendly against Serie D Best Eleven in 2009, for "U-19" team as overage player (the team was coached by U-19 coach (Piscedda who appointed as U-19 coach since 2008) but consist of U-20 players).[7] Most of the players of that inferior squad did not go to 2009 FIFA U-20 World Cup, including Pazzagli.
