Edward Brian Stanford Mountain (born 1961) is a British politician who is a Scottish Conservative and Unionist Member of Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the Highlands and Islands region, elected in the Scottish Parliament election, 2016.[1]
Political career
In the 2011 he stood in the Caithness, Sutherland and Ross constituency where he finished fourth.[2]
He stood unsuccessfully in the Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey constituency in the United Kingdom general election, 2015. In the 2016 Scottish Parliament election he stood as the Conservative candidate for the Inverness and Nairn, coming second to Fergus Ewing although Mountain took a one of the three places that the Conservatives won on the regional list.[3]
Mountain is the Conservative spokesperson for land reform.[4]
