History
Flashpoint Studios was initiated in 1996 by Kevin Carvell, a writer, producer, and actor who decided to take a break from his on again-off again acting career to pursue more work behind the scenes. For the first four years, the company went by the name Aurora Mediaworks and focused mostly on corporate film production and internet marketing. During this time, Aurora had also begun lending production assistance to such television series as Early Edition and Batman Beyond. In 2000, the company was re-branded to Flashpoint Studios. It was felt that this name was more marketable. At that time, Flashpoint also ramped up its involvement as a television and film production company and promotional firm, lending production assistance and promotional resources most notably to the television series 24, Whose Line is it Anyway?, Alias, The Dead Zone, the television mini-series Band of Brothers, and films The Whole Nine Yards, Final Destination, and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl. Later, Flashpoint went on to provide assistance to other notable projects such as Signs, Taken, Bruce Almighty, Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek: Enterprise, Batman Begins, Mission: Impossible III, and Transformers.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
