Swaragini — Jodein Rishton Ke Sur (English: Swaragini — Joins the Melody of Relationships) commonly abbreviated as Swaragini is an Indian television series, which premiered on 2 March 2015 and airs Monday to Friday on Colors TV. Later it started on Rishtey from 14 December 2015 and airs Monday to Sunday. It is also dubbed in Arabic and aired on MBC Bollywood under name ومن الحب ما قتل (Translation: And There's Love That Kills).

This Serial has been Dubbed in Tamil on Raj TV as Ganga Yamunaa and premiered on 6 June 2016 replacing the longest running Tamil Serial Sindhu Bhairavi on 7pm Prime Time Slot

Plot

The story revolves around the lives of two half sisters, Swara and Ragini. They abbreviate themselves as Swaragini. Swara hails from a Bengali family while Ragini belongs to a Marwari family. Swara is the older one among the two. Ragini's mom died in her childhood.Both families are neighbours.Both families especially Swara's grandmother and Ragini's grandmother hate each other. Ragini's father Shekhar and Swara's mom Sharmishtha / Shomi are lovers in the past and Swara is Shekhar's daughter.Swara comes to know this truth. Swara and Ragini join together and reunite their parents.

Soon, Laksh Maheshwari enters into the lives of the two sisters. Though Laksh is engaged to Ragini but doesn't want to get married to Ragini and Ragini calls off their marriage. Laksh helps Swara and Ragini to reunite their parents. While helping them he falls in love with Swara and Swara, though initially refuses reciprocates the feelings. Consequently, the alluring relationship between Swara and Ragini is ruined as Ragini's love for Laksh turns into obsession.

Swara and Laksh get engaged after a few conflicts. Ragini start to hate Swara and fakely show that she loves her. Ragini turns evil in order to separate Swara from Laksh as she loves Laksh. And then enters Sanskaar Maheshwari, cousin of Laksh who are like brothers. He joins Ragini for his revenge against Laksh pretending to be mentally ill. Sanskaar, who has been away from his family for 5 years, believes that Durga Prasad Maheshwari and his son, Laksh were the reason behind Kavita's death (Sanskaar's girlfriend). They drug Swara and try to make Laksh believe that she takes drugs.

However, Swara finds out the truth of Sanskaar and makes him realize his mistake. Sanskaar realizes his mistake soon and apologizes to Swara and the family. Sanskaar's misunderstanding is cleared. Ragini throws Swara into a river on Swara's wedding day and creates misunderstanding as if Swara betrayed Laksh by not showing up. Laksh, impulsively takes a decision to marry Ragini. Although Ragini married Laksh she keeps plotting against Swara. In order to help Swara fight against her sister, Sanskaar fakes a marriage with Swara.

Pretending to be Sanskaar's wife, Swara tries hard to reveal the truth of Ragini in front of the family and succeeds so. During this period, Sanskaar, who supports Swara in every step of her, falls in love with her, though he doesn't expect her to reciprocate his feelings.

However, Ragini forces Swara and Sanskaar to marry, so that their fake relationship will be out in front of everyone and she and Laksh could also become one. Swara and Sanskaar unwillingly get married as Ragini kidnaps Shomi at the end moment as she fears that her truth will be out. Laksh comes to know about Ragini's truth. After her truth is out, Ragini is thrown out from the house. Laksh apologizes to Swara and tells her that he wants to start a relationship with her again but Swara disagreed.

Swara and Sanskaar get married and this led to a disturbed life as Swara is determined to divorce Sanskaar and get back to her family. Laksh, hopes to get back together with Swara who tells him that she doesn't love him anymore and has moved on. Swara starts to fall in love with Sanskaar. When Ragini sees that the family has started to hate her she thought to die but got saved and then Ragini fakes that she lost her memory so that she can prove that Swara is double dating Sanskaar and Laksh.

Laksh kidnaps Ragini and tries to kill her. Swara suspects Sanskaar to be the kidnapper which breaks his heart and he starts to ignore her. Laksh gets exposed and is arrested. Ragini returns and occupies the Maheshwari House to take revenge on the whole family and also makes Swara divorce Sanskaar. Swara, who has realized her love for Sanskaar, begs Sanskaar not to leave her. But Sanskaar who is heartbroken doesn't listen to her. Ragini blackmails Durga Prasad for his property. Swara expresses her love for Sanskaar and records it in a tape recorder and tells him to listen to it. Sanskaar listens to it and gets emotional.

Meanwhile, Kavita, who had been in a coma, returns and gets engaged to Sanskaar by emotionally blackmailing him. However, upon learning that Sanskaar loves Swara, Kavita breaks her engagement and begins to plot against Swara along with Urvashi (Ragini's aunt; Shekhar's sister-in-law). Urvashi thinks that Shomi killed her sister Jhanki (Shekhar's first wife, Ragini's mother) and to take revenge, she shows everyone that Jhanki's ghost is unhappy with Shomi. Laksh tells Ragini to forget everything that has happened and start fresh. Laksh fakes that he loves Ragini so that she could sign the divorce and property papers and then he will leave her. Ragini who was very happy, changed from her negative character as she got her love and family started to like Swara again.

Soon, Kavita and Urvashi get exposed. Someone kills Urvashi and the blame falls on Swara. Ragini helps Sanskaar in finding out the truth. It is revealed that Kaveri (Kavita's mother), who was jailed was out and helped Kavita kill Urvashi and they both get arrested. Swara and Sanskaar get married. But Laksh marries Kavya, betraying Ragini. Shekhar slaps Laksh but Laksh slaps him back. Shekhar decides to separate Swara and Sanskaar too as he thinks that the sons of Maheshwari household are not good enough for his daughters. Ragini who is heartbroken decides to commit suicide, but Swara comes in the right time and saves her.

Though Shekhar disagrees, Swara returns to Sanskaar and the Maheshwari household. During the wedding, disappointed with Laksh, Durga, Ram, Adarsh, Annapurna, Sujata and Parineeta don't give their blessings to Laksh and Kavya. This makes Kavya furious and she plots against all of the six and also against Swara, Sanskaar, Uttara and the Gadodias. Under the current track it is likely for Laksh to be hypnotized or drugged by Kavya. Soon a new entry is expected, Kavya's brother Kartik, who enters as antagonist with grey shades.

Truth is known by Laksh and he also comes to know that Kavya is giving drugs to him but he goes to Kavya to get the clarification only to find that Kavya has done suicide and thus trapping Laksh and gets him arrested by the police. Later Ragini steals her own mother's jewellery which was shown to her by her grandmother and sells it in order to free the Maheshwari family but later the police said that they could only free the ladies of the family and not the men because they got a mail from Kavya saying that her life is in danger and the men of the Maheshwari family are responsible for it. Later, Laksh is also taken into the lock up for murdering Kavya and he realises his mistakes and apologizes to everyone in the family including Ragini for not trusting them and everyone forgives him.

When the Maheshwari ladies come home they see a video made by Kavya telling them that she had not died also warns them to free the men fast else the family will only have females in the house. Ragini tells Swara that the CD inside the DVD player contains Kavya's video and that is the proof but much to everyone's shock the DVD player bursts and hence destroying the CD.

Then the men's of the Maheshwari stay at jail so Swara and Ragini join hands to save them. Swara and Ragini collect proofs against Kavya and exposes her infront of everyone and the police by Swara planning a fake encounter of Laksh with the help of the police. Swara and Ragini had already shown proofs against Kavya to them. Kavya finds out that Laksh is alive. Swara and Laksh slap Kavya. The police arrests Kavya and releases all the Maheshwari men. Kavya holds Annapurna on gunpoint and runs away with Kartik. Kavya kidnaps Laksh and tries to kill him but Swara, Ragini and Sanskaar reach there to save him. Kavya tries to stab Swara but Ragini comes in between them and gets stabbed instead. Kavya gets arrested.

Soon Laksh started developing feelings for Ragini. The doctor tells Ragini is out of danger but has high fever due to the shock. Swara comes to know about it and reports it to her in-laws. Laksh starts feeling guilty about what he did to Ragini in the past. He hides in Ragini's house and takes care of Ragini without Shekhar, Shomi or Dadi knowing at night. In the morning Ragini regains her consciousness and Laksh proposes to Ragini. Shomi sees Laksh in Ragini's room and gets shocked. Shomi ask Laksh to leave immediately as Shekhar and Dadi were coming. But Laksh refuses and says he would not leave without Ragini's answer. Soon Shekhar enters and throws Laksh out. Laksh pleads to Shekhar and tells him he loves his daughter, but he refuses. Swara with her in-laws come there and talk for Laksh. She says she has come here to make alliance with you for my brother-in-law, but Shekhar refuses. Swara asks Shekhar to ask Ragini as its her life. Ragini comes there. Ragini reminisces about how Laksh betrayed her and how he slapped Shekhar. She gets back into her house and the Maheshwari family take that as a NO. Ragini tells Shekhar that she still loves Laksh but she won't disobey her orders.

Finally Ragini and Laksh marry and consummate their marriage. On the other hand, Swara pretends to be angry with Sanskaar. Sanskaar gives a romantic surprise to her and convinces her. Parineeta's mother Sulekha arrives to Maheshwari house. Parineeta is upset and insecure because of limelight which Swara and Ragini are getting and starts kitchen politics. Swara and Sanskaar consummate their marriage. Later, Parineeta gets jealous of Swara and Ragini and she takes the home locker keys by saying that she is the big daughter-in-law. Everyone get convinced but afterwards the Maheshwaris sign a contract of business in foreign with Mr. Charles. He comes to their house and the locker key gets lost. But the key is found in Mr. Charles sweet dish and Sujata and Adarsh take the keys back. While they show that Uttara is in love with Rajat, but Swara suspects him as Ragini slapped him for being rude to Dadi. Rajat comes to Maheshwari house with his parents. In the Gadodia house Shomi gets pregnant but Dadi does not allow seeing her age. Swara gets kidnapped by Rajat, but finds out that Rajat hired two people for acting as his parents. Swara tries to escape and succeeds in it, but injuring her leg.

Ragini suspects Swara as she was hiding the incident that took place with Rajat. She asks Swara and Swara reveals the truth about Rajat. While talking to Ragini, Laksh and Sanskaar listen to them and they together make a plan. Rajat tortures Swara, who manages to convey her family that Rajat is fake but all her plans goes off in vain. Uttara faints in the marriage. Rajat carries her to the room and finds that all the Maheshwaris are tricking him so he kidnaps Swara.

Sanskaar runs after Rajat to save Swara and shoots him after he reaches near a cliff, but unfortunately Swara too falls off the cliff along with Rajat and shouts "I Love You Sanskaar" before falling while Sanskar is shell shocked as he watches his love slip away once more. Meanwhile, Swara is saved by a rockstar Sahil and she loses her memory. Everybody assumes Swara to be dead but Sanskaar refuses to believe that. Sanskaar sees Swara in a temple and informs the family. Swara returns, but she only remembers her mother, Ragini and Baadi, she doesn't remember Sanskaar as her husband and she assumes and blames Sanskaar as her murderer. Sahil on the other side gets shocked when he knows that Swara is married to Sanskaar as he was developing feelings for Swara. Sanskaar promises to himself that he will get back Swara as he has trust in his love for her.In the upcoming episodes Swara comes to know that Sanskaar is her husband and runs away.
