George Perry Floyd Jr. (October 14, 1973 - May 25, 2020) was an African-American man who died in the hands of police custody in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest after a store clerk suspected Floyd may have used a counterfeit twenty-dollar bill, on May 25, 2020. Derek Chauvin, one of four police officers who arrived on the scene, knelt on Floyd's neck and back for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.

Floyd, a criminal with repeated convictions, had heart disease and hypertension, had tested positive for COVID-19, and had the drugs fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cannabinoids in his system when he died. The incident was filmed on body cameras worn by the police, security cameras, and bystander smartphones, contributing to the riots, but may make it unlikely that Floyd's death was intentional.

Early life

Floyd was born on October 14, 1973, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, to George Perry and Larcenia "Cissy" Jones Floyd. He had four siblings. His great-great-grandfather, Hillery Thomas Stewart Sr., was born as a slave but acquired his freedom in the American Civil War.

In 2009, Floyd was accused and convicted of holding a gun to the stomach of a pregnant woman and threatening to kill her and her baby while six co-conspirators ransacked her home for money and drugs, and was sentenced to mass incarceration as a result. In 2014, after being released from prison, Floyd moved to Minnesota to avoid Texas' three strikes law. After leaving prison, Floyd was described by family and friends as a Christian with a history of ministry work.

Death

On May 25, 2020, Floyd was arrested after retail clerks approached him while in his car, alleging he had passed a counterfeit $20 bill to pay for cigarettes, and called the police when they failed to receive any further offer of payment. An odd series of events transpired, which nevertheless conveyed nothing so much as the avoidability of its tragic consequences.

Beginning with the first difficulty meeting statutory compliance, a counterfeiter was arrested the same day as Floyd in Minneapolis with many thousands in counterfeit bills which throws a question on whether Floyd dealt voluntarily with the purported counterfeit money in any way, or if he were merely an unwilling target of a fraud.

The arresting officer, Derek Chauvin, and three of his cohorts arrived a few minutes after the alleged transaction with the counterfeit money and were somehow informed that Floyd was in some way impaired in his actions. There is statutory precedent that sitting in the driver's seat of a motorized vehicle with the motor running while impaired in capacity by ingestion of drugs or alcohol suffices for a DUID or DWI indictment, but such a person who pulls out into traffic presents a more active portrayal of crossing the law, which is naturally easier to prosecute.

The officers waited, and Floyd did not pull out, but it is unknown from the cameras recording some of the events whether the motor was in fact running. The second white officer approached the vehicle and at one point pulled his gun before holstering it again.

The arresting officer and Floyd previously worked together as security guards at a nightclub. Floyd was known to have worked in pornographic films, the production of which is illegal in Minneapolis.

The county medical examiner's original determination was that there were “no physical findings” of “traumatic asphyxia or strangulation”. The report says Floyd had fentanyl in his system, and they also found signs of recent methamphetamine use.

Depressants like fentanyl can involuntarily relax the diaphragm in larger amounts, and though heavy-set persons like Floyd can safely ingest more, if they do ingest much, they are prone to obstruction of their breathing when the weight of their fatty tissue prevents the motion of other compensating breathing muscles.

Not knowing this has confused some into thinking that when Floyd died of cardiopulmonary arrest, it was merely caused directly by an overdose of Fentanyl and not by not being held among the limited bodily positions outside of which he would be unable to breathe.

Riots and civil disorder

Beginning on May 26, 2020, the day after Floyd's death, a series of pro-establishment revolutionary riots and civil disobedience, organized by the "anti-racist" Black Lives Matter movement, began in Minneapolis, and spread throughout the rest of the United States and even to the rest of the Western world.

The riots included arson, assaults on police officers, including by being run over, by Molotov cocktails, and by being shot, large-scale looting and property damages, and many people being wounded, including hundreds of police officers, and several people being killed, including two African American police officers. Some people have seen similarities to mass killings under Communist regimes.

By July 30, 2020, 24 people had died in association with the riots. Even a politically correct report published in September 2020 stated rioting at almost 220 different locations. Only the riots that occurred between May 26 and June 8 may cost more than $2 billion only in insurance claims according to a report, making them the most costly riots in American history, costing more than even all of the six major American riots combined during the turbulent 1960s, even after adjusting for inflation.

Antifa has been stated to be involved in the violence. United States Attorney General William Barr stated that "In many places, it appears the violence is planned, organized and driven by anarchist and far left extremists, using Antifa-like tactics, many of whom travel from out of state to promote the violence." Related to the riots, social anarchists created, by occupation, a "Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone" (CHAZ) or "Capitol Hill Occupied Protest" (CHOP) in Seattle, Washington. It was eventually cleared, but rioting continued in locations such as Portland, Oregon.

Also related are demands to defund the police, with social anarchists actually meaning that the police should be abolished. Numerous police officers are stated to be considering leaving the police, for reasons such as anti-police sentiments in the mainstream media and elsewhere.

A study estimated that, as a result of de-policing during June and July 2020, approximately 710 additional victims were murdered and more than 2,800 victims were shot.

"The Black Lives Matter movement is linked to more than nine-in-ten riots across the country, according to a recent study. The U.S. experienced 637 riots between May 26 and Sept. 12, and 91% of those riots were linked to the Black Lives Matter movement." Some Black Lives Matter leaders and supporters have declined to condemn, or have supported, rioting and looting.

The riots and mass migration-related disease transfer across the Mexico-United States border were claimed by Dr. Scott Atlas to have contributed to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the United States.

The politically correct mainstream media is argued to have had a major responsibility for the riots with one-sided reporting, including misleading descriptions of Floyd's arrest as being due to systemic racism and white supremacy.

Censorship on Wikipedia

The online encyclopedia Wikipedia, which describes itself as having a Neutral Point of View (NPOV) and being opposed to government censorship, has been described as having a very strong left-wing bias and censorship regarding the riots, including downplaying the role of Antifa and instead trying to pass the blame onto far-right extremists. Furthermore, its parent organization, the Wikimedia Foundation, dropped any pretense of neutrality and declared itself to be another "anti-racist" movement devoted to social justice activism. On June 3, 2020, it stated that "Today, and every day, the Wikimedia Foundation stands in support of racial justice and with the movement for Black Lives." and that "On these issues, there is no neutral stance." It also stated that Wikipedia is "far more than a website." "calls on all of us to shape what we understand of our world."

From unknown criminal to secular saint

Despite being unknown prior to his death, Floyd has increasingly been sanctified by the political left and has become a dominant culture as almost the icon of a secular religion, mostly due to extensive one-sided coverage from the mainstream media and other politically correct organizations, which are argued to ignore cases of Black on White violence in a case of alleged race censorship. His death, along with the deaths of Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery earlier on in 2020, triggered a mass wave of race riots and numerous other forms of anti-white activism across the United States and the rest of the previously homogenous, but now increasingly multicultural Western world, with most companies implementing stronger affirmative action policies. The activism also spread to the mostly homogenous Japan, where a small minority group of people encouraged and engaged in anti-Japanese activism in addition to pushing anti-white viewpoints, for which they were largely condemned.
