HMCS Melville was a Bangor-class minesweeper built for the Royal Canadian Navy in 1940. She was laid down in December 1940 and launched in July of 1941.[1] She was the first diesel engine Bangor class, and served for the whole of World War Two. After the war, she was transferred to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police under the same name and served there for many years.[2] She was broken up in 1961.[3]
