James McAulay (born 28 August 1860 in Bonhill; died 13 January 1943) was a Scottish footballer, who played for Dumbarton and Scotland.
McAulay played for Scotland as a goalkeeper in most of his international appearances, but also played as a forward. He scored a goal in that appearance, a 5–0 win against Wales in March 1882. He played in Dumbarton's Scottish Cup winning team of 1883. He also played representative matches for Scotch Counties (three times) and Dumbartonshire (five times).[3]
