Josef Polig (born November 9, 1968 in Sterzing) is an Italian former Alpine skier.
He participated in the World Cup from 1988 to 1995 without getting a podium place. Not very many had given the Italian medal chances[citation needed] when he participated at the 1992 Olympics in Albertville. But Polig surprised everyone[citation needed] by winning the gold medal in the combined event.[1]
