Leandro Lo Pereira do Nascimento (11 May 1989 – 7 August 2022) was a multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion. Lo also won BJJ events including the World Cup, Pan American championships and Brazilian National Jiu-Jitsu Championships.[2] He held an unbeaten winning streak at the Copa Podio from 2011 to 2013.[3] Lo earned his black belt under Cicero Costha at Cicero Costha Academy in São Paulo, Brazil.[citation needed][4] In 2015, he created the New School "NS" Brotherhood team .[2] His guard technique has earned Lo recognition as one of the "best pound for pound grapplers to have ever graced the mat."[4]
Death
Lo was shot in the head after an altercation with an off-duty military police officer in a party in São Paulo, Brazil on 7 August 2022, and died on his way to the hospital.[5][6][7][8]
