Metropolitan Police's Special Investigations Division
The Metropolitan Police's Special Investigations Division (警視庁特状課 Keishichō Toku-jō-ka)[lower-alpha 1] is in charge of investigating the strange happenings regarding the Roidmude and "Heaviness" within the city. This division is located inside Kuruma Driver's License Center (久瑠間運転免許試験場 Kuruma Unten Menkyo Shikenjō). They are assisted by Kamen Rider Drive, but very few on the force are aware of his identity. After the Roidmudes' (Banno's) case is over, the division is finally disbanded.
Shinnosuke Tomari
Shinnosuke Tomari (泊 進ノ介 Tomari Shinnosuke) is a young man who joined the Metropolitan Police to solve the mystery behind the death of his father Eisuke Tomari. During an event called the Global Freeze, while tracking down a terrorist organization called Neo-Shade, Shinnosuke accidentally left his squad partner Akira Hayase behind and he was critically wounded. This upset Shinnosuke, making him lose his motivation to be a police officer, as he was transferred to the police department's Special Investigations Division. When he encounters the Drive Driver belt, he secretly becomes the hero Kamen Rider Drive to fight the Roidmudes, androids who are the cause of the Global Freeze and several strange events occurring in the city. In time, Shinnosuke learns more about the arsenal at his disposal among other truths as he is joined by Go Shijima and later the reformed Roidmude Chase. Eventually, Shinnosuke is forced to publicly reveal his identity as Kamen Rider Drive and it results in the Roidmudes targeting him for their plans. Upon learning that the Roidmudes were involved in his father's death years before, Shinnosuke confronts the Freeze Roidmude in search for answers, just to nearly be killed when the Roidmude achieves his Over-Evolved form. After being revived by the Special Investigations Division, Shinnosuke manages to defeat and destroy the Freeze Roidmude and succeeds in tracking down his father's true murder, whom he later arrests. Soon after, Shinnosuke and his friends and comrades turn their attention on stopping the remaining Roidmudes from threatening to mankind, by thwarting Professor Banno's plan to use them to start a second Global Freeze. After the world is saved from the Roidmudes, the Special Investigations Division is disbanded, Shinnosuke is promoted to police sergeant, and he is transferred back to the First Investigation Division.
At the end of the film Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Super Movie War Genesis, Shinnosuke marries Kiriko Shijima. Some time in the future, the two eventually have a son who they name Eiji (英志).
As Kamen Rider Drive, instead of using a motorcycle like previous Kamen Riders, Shinnosuke's vehicle is a car called the Tridoron (トライドロン Toraidoron).[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Shinnosuke uses the Shift Cars (シフトカー Shifuto Kā) in conjunction with the Drive Driver (ドライブドライバー Doraibu Doraibā) and the Shift Brace (シフトブレス Shifuto Buresu) to transform into Kamen Rider Drive. Kamen Rider Drive has three primary forms known as "Types" that he can transform between: the base and speed-oriented Type Speed (タイプスピード Taipu Supīdo), the strength-oriented Type Wild (タイプワイルド Taipu Wairudo), and the accuracy-oriented Type Technic (タイプテクニック Taipu Tekunikku). In any of these forms, he is armed with the Handle-Ken (ハンドル剣 Handoru Ken) saber and the Door-Ju (ドア銃 Doa Jū) pistol. There are other Shift Cars that Kamen Rider Drive can use during fights in order to gain new abilities. For example, the Max Flare Shift Car empowers Kamen Rider Drive's attacks with fires, while the Mad Doctor Shift Car can be used to heal his or others' injuries. Other Shift Cars do not factor into Kamen Rider Drive's attacks, such as the Burning Solar Shift Car which absorbs solar energy or the Colorful Commercial Shift Car which produces 3D holograms for uses like camouflage. Other Shift Cars form the basis of stronger forms.
- Type Dead Heat (タイプデッドヒート Taipu Deddo Hīto) is Kamen Rider Drive's motorcycle and sidecar-based form. This form change can be shared with Kamen Rider Mach, allowing either Rider to emulate the Heart Roidmude's Dead Zone ability. However, as this Shift Car has not been perfected yet, it has a serious drawback in that it leaves the user out of control to where they attack anyone after a few minutes of use. Since Kamen Rider Drive never overcame this limitation, the Shift Car becomes part of Kamen Rider Mach's regular arsenal instead.
- Type Formula (タイプフォーミュラ Taipu Fōmyura) is Kamen Rider Drive's Formula One car-based form, which is powered up by three subordinate Shift Cars that give him a larger range of abilities. He can also use the Trailer-Hou (トレーラー砲 Torērā Hō) rifle to unleash powerful Full Throttle finishing attacks when combined with the Shift Cars.
- Type Tridoron (タイプトライドロン Taipu Toraidoron) is Kamen Rider Drive's ultimate sports car-based form, adapting the mannerisms of Krim Steinbelt while converting the Tridoron into armor. In this form, Kamen Rider Drive uses the Tire Blending (タイヤカキマゼール Taiya Kakimazēru) ability to combine three Tire Exchange Shift Cars of a particular set into a singular Shift Tire with the combined powers of its components. He can also use all the weapons from his other forms, as well as allow Mr. Belt to take control of his body when needed.
In the film Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Drive & Gaim: Movie War Full Throttle, Kamen Rider Drive gains access to a Type Fruits (タイプフルーツ Taipu Furūtsu) form gained from Kamen Rider Gaim sharing some of his power with him. He gains access to Kamen Rider Gaim's Daidaimaru and Musou Saber weapons while resembling a samurai with a large straw hat in the form of an orange.
Type High Speed (タイプハイスピード Taipu Hai Supīdo) is exclusive to the Kamen Rider Drive Hyper Battle DVD. It is a silver-colored version of his Type Speed form which is stronger than Type Speed, however it is eventually revealed that it is just a placebo effect and it is no different from the standard Type Speed form.
In the film Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future, Shinnosuke uses Chase's Mach Driver Honoh and the Tridoron Key (トライドロンキー Toraidoron Kī) to transform into Kamen Rider Super Dead Heat Drive (仮面ライダー超デッドヒートドライブ Kamen Raidā Chō Deddo Hīto Doraibu), a form similar to Mashin Chaser. He also gains the ability to transform into Type Special (タイプスペシャル Taipu Supesharu) through the Shift Next Special Shift Car. This form is originally used by his son Eiji Tomari in the year 2035, but after he is killed by Roidmude 108, his Shift Car and Drive Driver are used and corrupted by the Roidmude in order to become Kamen Rider Dark Drive. After Roidmude 108 becomes the Paradox Roidmude, he damages the Shift Car and Drive Driver from the future, but Kiriko retrieves both and uses the Mad Doctor Shift Car to restore them to their original states, allowing Shinnosuke to use both to battle the Paradox Roidmude as Type Special. Upon transforming, Shinnosuke is greeted by a hologram of his son, as he had used the mind link technology to implant part of his consciousness into the Shift Car before his death in the future.
In the film Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Super Movie War Genesis, two new forms of Kamen Rider Drive are shown. The first is Kamen Rider Dead Heat Drive (仮面ライダーデッドヒートドライブ Kamen Raidā Deddo Hīto Doraibu), a form resembling Type Dead Heat, that Shinnosuke transforms into with a Mach Driver Honoh given to him by Professor Harley, as Mr. Belt is still locked away after the Roidmudes were all defeated earlier in the year. After being sent back in time 10 years with Takeru Tenkūji, Shinnosuke discovers the Mr. Belt of 2005 and together they transform into Kamen Rider Zero Drive (仮面ライダーゼロドライブ Kamen Raidā Zero Doraibu), a more advanced form of Kamen Rider Proto Drive but not yet the completed Kamen Rider Drive.[10]
Shinnosuke Tomari is portrayed by Ryoma Takeuchi (竹内 涼真 Takeuchi Ryōma). As a teenager, Shinnosuke is portrayed by Ryohei Aoki (青木 綾平 Aoki Ryōhei).
Kiriko Shijima
Kiriko Shijima (詩島 霧子 Shijima Kiriko) is another officer in the Special Investigations Division who tries to keep up a serious exterior, doing her best to not smile while working with mechanical precision, and losing her composure whenever Shinnosuke points out that she has smiled. She is initially the only member of the force who actually knows that Shinnosuke is Kamen Rider Drive and as such often assists him in battles as a sidekick. She is shown to be very athletic despite her looks and also has the habit of physically dragging Shinnosuke back to work when she finds that he is slacking off, often handcuffing him in the process. Kiriko is later revealed to have had a history with the Kamen Riders since the Global Freeze event when it is revealed that Kamen Rider Proto Drive saved her from Roidmude 010. Shinnosuke ultimately helps her overcome her fear of the particular Roidmude when she faces him again after he has become the Paint Roidmude. When Kiriko learns that Chase is Kamen Rider Proto Drive, as part of his explanation that he cannot harm her, she plays a role in helping Chase regain his memories. Kiriko is later revealed to be the daughter of Professor Banno, yet is unaware of their familial ties until Go inadvertently reveals the truth to her after he had been trying to bring him back. Despite not knowing that Banno is her father, she was aware that her father was an evil man, as he had done something horrible enough to break her mother's heart and then abandon her and their family. As a child, Kiriko never told Go anything about their father, as he was too young to understand, but he comes to realize the truth when he unleashes Banno into the world once more. After the Special Investigations Division is disbanded, Kiriko is transferred to the First Investigation Division with Shinnosuke.
In the film Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3, Kiriko's memories of the proper timeline are instrumental in saving everyone from Shocker.
At the end of the film Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Super Movie War Genesis, Kiriko marries Shinnosuke. Some time in the future, they have a son who they name Eiji.
Kiriko Shijima is portrayed by Rio Uchida (内田 理央 Uchida Rio). As a teenager, Kiriko is portrayed by Yui Kato (加藤 結 Katō Yui).
Rinna Sawagami
Rinna Sawagami (沢神 りんな Sawagami Rinna) is the Special Investigations Division's visiting electro-physicist and she is in charge of engineering. In her personal life, she is single, and has some anxiety about her situation, but her bright personality still brings up everyone's moods in the Special Investigations Division. She is revealed to know about Krim Steinbelt and Shinnosuke's actions as Kamen Rider Drive, and she is revealed to be the engineer behind most of Kamen Rider Drive's arsenal. After the division is disbanded at the end of the series, Sawagami returns to academia and becomes an international expert in electro-physics. Some time in the future, she is awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.
Rinna Sawagami is portrayed by Rei Yoshii (吉井 怜 Yoshii Rei).
Kyu Saijo
Kyu Saijo (西城 究 Saijō Kyū)[lower-alpha 2], a pseudonym for Kenta Imai (今井 健太 Imai Kenta), is the Special Investigations Division's visiting network engineer. He is the resident expert on electronics networks and often performs the information gathering for the group. He seems to be a little too interested in the occult and other topics the Special Investigations Division covers, which everyone seems to notice. After the division is disbanded, Kyu becomes a popular network researcher and author. His novel Mechanical Friendship (機械じかけの友情 Kikai-jikake no Yūjō) becomes a best seller.
Kyu Saijo is portrayed by Kenta Hamano (浜野 謙太 Hamano Kenta).
Jun Honganji
Jun Honganji (本願寺 純 Honganji Jun) is the Chief of the Special Investigations Division. He appears to be a typical incompetent management level person who does little more than to please his superiors and does nothing more than keep tabs on everyone in his department, particularly how he tries to have trouble-free days. He is the one who assigns Kiriko to watch over Shinnosuke, who is constantly skipping work and lazing off somewhere. He is an avid believer in divination and fortune-telling, and his necktie will be in the lucky color for that day. After Shinnosuke transforms into Kamen Rider Drive in front of many civilians, Honganji reveals that he is a longtime friend and supporter of Krim Steinbelt and has long been aware that Shinnosuke was chosen to become Kamen Rider Drive. He also reveals that he is personally responsible for establishing the Special Investigations Division to serve as the base of operations of Kamen Rider Drive and his support team within the police department. It is also revealed that Honganji is actually a very astute and perceptive police officer, with his goofy, incompetent, and trouble-fearing attitude only a clever facade. Along with establishing and keeping the Special Investigations Division intact, his eager pleasing of his superiors has always been a front to dig for information regarding the Global Freeze event from the upper levels of the police force. He was also responsible for revealing Shinnosuke's identity as Kamen Rider Drive to the mass media, having judged that doing so would protect Shinnosuke from the Roidmudes. After the Special Investigations Division is disbanded, Honganji keeps rising in the chain of command until finally becoming the Deputy Superintendent General of the Metropolitan Police Department.
Honganji eventually receives a Mass-Produced Mach Driver (量産型マッハドライバー Ryōsan-gata Mahha Doraibā) and Tokujo-Ka Key (特状課キー Tokujō-ka Kī) from Rinna Sawagami, to become the first user of the Mass-Produced Kamen Rider Mach (量産型仮面ライダーマッハ Ryōsan-gata Kamen Raidā Mahha) system, dubbing himself Kamen Rider Jun (仮面ライダー純 Kamen Raidā Jun). However, it is ultimately revealed to still be a prototype, leaving Honganji open to the effects of the Roidmude's time-freezing abilities.
In the film Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3, Honganji is one of a few people mostly unaffected by the changes to history by Kamen Rider 3, as he still leads the Special Investigations Division with Rinna Sawagami and Kyu Saijo. After Kiriko reveals to him that the timeline has been altered, leading him to help keep Kamen Rider Black safe from Shocker surveillance. He is killed when Cheetahkatatsumuri discovers Kamen Rider Black's location, but is brought back to life when the timeline is restored to normal.
Jun Honganji is portrayed by Tsurutaro Kataoka (片岡 鶴太郎 Kataoka Tsurutarō).
Genpachiro Otta
Genpachiro Otta (追田 現八郎 Otta Genpachirō) is a lieutenant in the Metropolitan Police's First Investigation Division (捜査一課 Sōsaikka), the first group to be sent out to investigate crimes. He serves as a liaison between his division and the Special Investigations Division. He often dismisses the actions of the Special Investigations Division as that of an "occult club", but he is in fact quite fond of Shinnosuke, a fact he tries to hide. After the Special Investigations Division is disbanded, Otta is promoted to police inspector. He later becomes the chief of the First Investigation Division.
In the events of the film Super Hero Taisen GP: Kamen Rider 3, Otta has been turned into a general in Shocker and has become the monster Cheetahkatatsumuri (チーターカタツムリ Chītā Katatsumuri, lit. "Cheetah Snail"). He is destroyed by the combined efforts of Kamen Riders 1, 2, and 3, but is brought back to life as a normal human when the timeline is restored to normal.
Genpachiro Otta is portrayed by Taira Imata (井俣 太良 Imata Taira).
Mr. Belt
Mr. Belt (ベルトさん Beruto-san) is the name given to the Drive Driver's artificial intelligence by Shinnosuke, who serves as the navigation system for the Tridoron and is the one to summon the Shift Cars for Kamen Rider Drive. Mr. Belt was originally Krim Steinbelt (クリム・スタインベルト Kurimu Sutainberuto), a scientist who created the system known as Core Driviars (コアドライビア Koa Doraibia) for the Shift Cars and Tridoron. However, after he gave Core Driviars to his colleague Professor Banno, the man used them to create the Roidmudes, resulting in Steinbelt's death at their hands. He had originally planned on implanting his memories into the robot Cyberoid ZZZ, but ultimately decided on the Drive Driver. During the Global Freeze, Mr. Belt worked with the android Proto Zero to fight the Roidmudes as Kamen Rider Proto Drive, until Proto Zero's apparent death. In the ensuing time, Mr. Belt upgraded the Kamen Rider Drive arsenal to its current state when Shinnosuke finds him. He chooses the young man to be Kamen Rider Drive because of his nature to act first without any hesitation. With the proper guidance and advice, Shinnosuke's personality would be a major force in future battles. When not in use inside the Tridoron, Mr. Belt sits upon a station-pump like stand inside the Tridoron's Drive Pit which is located in the basement of the Kuruma Driver's License Center. After Shinnosuke gains the ability to transform into Kamen Rider Drive Type Tridoron, Mr. Belt gains the ability to temporarily assume control of Kamen Rider Drive's body and fights in his place. He also discovers that Banno is still alive, trapped in the tablet computer used by Heart, and is disappointed that his former colleague still wants to rule the world. After Banno and the Roidmudes are all defeated and the second Global Freeze is prevented, Mr. Belt projects a hologram of his original human appearance and bids farewell to his allies, sealing himself, the Tridoron, and all of the Kamen Rider arsenal away so it can never fall into the wrong hands in the future.
In the film Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future, it is revealed that Roidmude 004, who has stolen Krim Steinbelt's appearance, has put a computer chip in the Drive Driver to corrupt Mr. Belt's AI. The presence of the AI corrupting chip is revealed by the appearance of Eiji Tomari, Shinnosuke's son from 20 years in the future, and its effects are compounded by the appearance of an apparently evil Krim Steinbelt ordering around Kamen Rider Dark Drive in the present time to cause the second Global Freeze. This leads Mr. Belt to plead with Shinnosuke to destroy him, particularly after Type Tridoron takes over his body and nearly kills both Shinnosuke and Go Shijima. However, this is all part of Roidmude 108's plans to cause the second Global Freeze, having posed as both Eiji and the Steinbelt as Kamen Rider Dark Drive. After he becomes the Paradox Roidmude, he discards the Drive Driver he had been using, but Shinnosuke and Kiriko restore it to working order and discover that the Tridoron Key that Shinnosuke used to become Kamen Rider Super Dead Heat Drive can be used to restore Mr. Belt to normal in the future Drive Driver, as Krim Steinbelt used a mind link technology to ensure he can be brought back to normal.
Krim Steinbelt, as a human and as an AI voice, is portrayed by Chris Peppler (クリス・ペプラー Kurisu Pepurā), who also serves as series narrator.
Akira Hayase
Akira Hayase (早瀬 明 Hayase Akira) is a retired cop who was once Shinnosuke's colleague. Six months before the start of the TV series, he and Shinnosuke are investigating a crime when the Global Freeze happens. Shinnosuke's pistol misfires, causing their patrol car's gas tank to explode, crushing him under metal bars and leaving him horribly injured. During the events of the television series, Akira has started physical rehabilitation in the hospital, but he can never return to active duty on the police force. Shinnosuke feels guilty for his former partner's current state, but Akira does not blame him and pushes Shinnosuke to seek new goals in life so he is not burdened by the event. After learning that Shinnosuke is Kamen Rider Drive, Hayase secretly supports his colleague from behind the scenes with the other members of the Special Investigations Division. He reveals his part in supporting Kamen Rider Drive to Shinnosuke after Banno destroys the Drive Pit, as he has worked with the Metropolitan Police's vehicles division to procure space and materials for a Makeshift Emergency Drive Pit.
Akira Hayase is portrayed by Yukihiro Takiguchi (滝口 幸広 Takiguchi Yukihiro).
Go Shijima
Go Shijima (詩島 剛 Shijima Gō) is Kiriko's younger brother. He has been living in the United States for some time as a freelance photographer, but has returned to Japan where he reveals he is another Kamen Rider, Kamen Rider Mach (仮面ライダーマッハ Kamen Raidā Mahha). Go hates all Roidmudes because he has discovered that his father is Professor Banno and he wants to wipe out all of his father's creations. He holds a particular hatred towards Chase, even after Chase regains his humanity, but he soon mellows out and accepts Chase as another heroic Kamen Rider. When Go discovers that his father's consciousness has been stored in a tablet computer used by Brain, he goes on an undercover mission, pretending to betray Kamen Riders Drive and Chaser to get closer to Brain and Freeze. He still supports them, having used the alias "Mr. X" to contact the Special Investigations Division during his secret mission. When he has the opportunity, he steals the tablet from Brain, blowing his cover to save his father. He tries to convince Mr. Belt to work alongside Banno so they can both wipe out all of the Roidmudes, but Mr. Belt angrily declines due to their past, all while Go reveals that he knows Banno is his father, inadvertently revealing the truth to Kiriko as well. Go is shocked when Banno reveals he has been using him to enact his own plans to cause the second Global Freeze. Betrayed, Go and Chase hunt down Banno, who has taken the form of Goldrive. Chase falls in battle, giving Go the inner strength to defeat his father. He uses Chase's Shingou Ax to completely destroy Goldrive's Drive Driver, finally freeing the world from his father's evil. After the Special Investigations Division is disbanded, Go departs for America with Professor Harley Henderickson, hoping to use Chase's Signal Bike to bring him back. Go later becomes a famous photographer.
To transform into Kamen Rider Mach, Go uses the Mach Driver Honoh (マッハドライバー炎 Mahha Doraibā Honō) belt and one of many Signal Bikes (シグナルバイク Shigunaru Baiku) to transform or perform Signal Exchanges (シグナル交換 Shigunaru Kōkan). It uses an updated version of Kamen Rider Drive's technology called the Next System (ネクストシステム Nekusuto Shisutemu) which is apparently more powerful. Kamen Rider Mach can also use Kamen Rider Drive's Shift Cars for Tire Exchanges, but Kamen Rider Drive cannot use a Signal Bike as the Drive Driver does not have the Next System. Using the Shift Dead Heat Shift Car, Mach can become the powered-up Deadheat Mach (デッドヒートマッハ Deddohīto Mahha) form. He drives a motorcycle known as the Ride Macher (ライドマッハー Raido Mahhā) that can combine with Chase's Ride Chaser to form the car Ride Crosser (ライドクロッサー Raido Kurossā). He also later receives the go-kart-like Ride Booster Red (ライドブースターレッド Raido Būsutā Reddo). His primary sidearm is the Zenrin Shooter (ゼンリンシューター Zenrin Shūtā) which can also perform Full Throttle finishing attacks. Using Chase's Signal Bike, Go can transform into Kamen Rider Chaser Mach (仮面ライダーチェイサーマッハ Kamen Raidā Cheisā Mahha), allowing him to use the Shingou Ax as well as summon the three Viral Cores used by Mashin Chaser to fight by his side.
Go Shijima is portrayed by Yu Inaba (稲葉 友 Inaba Yū). As a child, Go is portrayed by Ryu Hashizume (橋爪 龍 Hashizume Ryū).
Harley Hendrickson
Professor Harley Hendrickson (ハーレー・ヘンドリクソン博士 Hārē Hendorikuson-hakase) is an American scientist who is the creator of Kamen Rider Mach's technology, as well as Krim Steinbelt's teacher. He also lends hints for Rinna Sawagami to help her develop the Trailer-Hou for Kamen Rider Drive Type Formula. After the Special Investigations Division is disbanded, Harley finds Go walking on foot to return to America, and picks him up to take him along himself.
Harley Hendrickson is portrayed by Ulf Ōtsuki (大月 ウルフ Ōtsuki Urufu).
Mitsuhide Nira
Mitsuhide Nira (仁良 光秀 Nira Mitsuhide) is the chief of the Metropolitan Police's First Investigation Division, working directly under Soichi Makage. Despite knowing Makage's true identity as the Freeze Roidmude, Nira aids him in controlling the police force while giving the Special Investigations Division grief. The reason behind this is that Nira has an inferiority complex towards Shinnosuke's father Eisuke Tomari, and is actually Eisuke's murderer, having shot him dead when working with him on a bank siege. After Freeze abandons him, Nira aids the Special Investigations Division in reviving Shinnosuke before his role in Eisuke's death is revealed. From there, Nira uses a Neo Viral Core to form a symbiosis with Roidmude 106 to become the Thief Roidmude (シーフロイミュード Shīfu Roimyūdo). After Roidmude 106 is destroyed, Nira forms a new symbiosis with Brain to help the Roidmude achieve his Over-Evolved Form. From there, Nira turns the police and the public against the Special Investigations Division, leading to their arrest, but his underhanded dealings are revealed to the public and after being abandoned by Brain, Nira is arrested by Shinnosuke, finally avenging his father's death.
The Thief Roidmude is one of the three Roidmudes that are brought back from the dead and faces off against Shinnosuke until being destroyed by Kamen Rider Ghost.
Mitsuhide Nira is portrayed by Kisuke Iida (飯田 基祐 Iida Kisuke). Roidmude 106 is voiced by Anri Katsu (勝 杏里 Katsu Anri).
Eisuke Tomari
Eisuke Tomari (泊 英介 Tomari Eisuke) is Shinnosuke's father who was a cop in the Metropolitan Police's First Investigation Division. He discovered Makage's identity as Freeze 12 years earlier and confronted him to find out the truth, being immune to Roidmude 001's memory altering abilities. Eisuke ends up being killed by Nira while the two attempted to arrest a bank robber whom Nira framed for Eisuke's murder.
Eisuke Tomari is portrayed by Tareyanagi (たれやなぎ).
Chase
Chase (チェイス Cheisu) is a specially created Roidmude who was originally Krim Steinbelt's aide Roidmude 000, dubbed Proto Zero (プロトゼロ Puroto Zero), who copied the appearance of the traffic police officer Koichi Kano (狩野 洸一 Kano Kōichi). During the Global Freeze, Proto Zero attempted to fight off the rampaging Roidmudes as Kamen Rider Proto Drive (仮面ライダープロトドライブ Kamen Raidā Puroto Doraibu), before being captured and reprogrammed by Freeze, Heart, and Brain to work for them. His memory has been altered with no recollection of his past, and is referred by the Roimudes as the "Grim Reaper" (死神 Shinigami) and is tasked to hunt down out-of-line Roidmudes and destroy their physical forms while taking their numbers to be reformatted by Brain. He is soft-spoken and sees Kamen Rider Drive as his rival. In battle, he transforms into a Kamen Rider-like form called Mashin Chaser (魔進チェイサー Mashin Cheisā),[lower-alpha 3] and is armed with the Break Gunner (ブレイクガンナー Bureiku Gannā) fire arm and drives the Ride Chaser (ライドチェイサー Raido Cheisā) motorcycle. He later receives Chaser Viral Cores (チェイサーバイラルコア Cheisā Bairaru Koa) which allows Mashin Chaser to become the armed Tune Chaser (武装チェイサー Busō Cheisā) forms, which each have their own weapons. Some of his memories of his former life arise when he sees Kiriko Shijima, who he once saved as Proto Drive, so he continues to meet with Kamen Rider Drive in order to discover his previous identity. Despite Medic's attempts to keep him from remembering his past by changing his purpose to serve as the Roidmudes' defender, Chase fully regains his memories when Kiriko tends to his wounds after a fight with Kamen Rider Drive. Using a Mach Driver Honoh and the Signal Chaser (シグナルチェイサー Shigunaru Cheisā) Signal Bike, reverse engineered by Rinna Sawagami from Mashin Chaser's armor, to become Kamen Rider Chaser (仮面ライダーチェイサー Kamen Raidā Cheisā), armed with the Shingou Ax (シンゴウアックス Shingō Akkusu), while still using the Break Gunner as a firearm. He also later receives the go-kart-like Ride Booster Blue (ライドブースターブルー Raido Būsutā Burū). When the Shift Prototype Car is repaired, Chase uses it in his Break Gunner to retrieve all his memories, revealing to everyone that Freeze, Heart, and Brain were responsible for his reprogramming, and also revealing Soichi Makage's true identity as Freeze. When Tenjuro Banno returns, Chase is skeptical of his creator's intentions and witnesses Banno's betrayal. After Chase learns the concept of human emotions, he now has a dream to become one like them, in following their good example. Chase also realizes that he loves Kiriko but discovers that Shinnosuke does as well. He reveals his love of Kiriko to Go, who refuses his humanty and reminds Chase that Kiriko cannot love a "machine". When Kiriko is hospitalized, Chase asks if she loves Shinnosuke, which she tries to deny but Chase sees through her ruse. Chase leaves, shedding tears upon realizing that Kiriko does not feel the same for him, willingly holding the burden of his unrequited love as it makes him feel closer to being human. During the final battle against Banno, Chase's Mach Driver Honoh is destroyed. Goldrive takes Chase's Shingou Ax to kill Go, but Chase transforms into Mashin Chaser one last time to save Go. He is mortally wounded by Goldrive's attack, and as he is about to die, Chase tells Go of his dream to protect something important and wanting to become human. He leaves the Signal Chaser and his driver's licence to Go and charges at Goldrive, activating his self-destruct mechanism. Go watches in horror as the explosion engulfs them both and Chase's Core is destroyed, after which he uses the Signal Chaser to fight Goldrive as Kamen Rider Chaser Mach and destroy Banno's Drive Driver with the Shingou Ax. After the world is saved, Go takes the Signal Chaser with him to America in the hopes that Harley Hendrickson can use it to bring Chase back to life. Elsewhere, Shinnosuke and Kiriko happen across Koichi Kano.
During the events of the film Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Super Movie War Genesis, Chase, along with all Roidmudes, has been brought back to life due to Takeru Tenkūji altering the events of the past in hopes of making sure his father lives. This is all part of the Da Vinci Gamma's plot to change the future to his liking. Chase, however, still possesses his memories of the original timeline and is not focused on attacking humans and he assists the Kamen Riders once more. After the Da Vinci, Raphael, and Michelangelo Gammas are defeated, history is restored back to normal, and the Roidmudes all disappear once more. However, Chase bids Go Shijima one final farewell before he disappears.
Chase is portrayed by Taiko Katono (上遠野 太洸 Katōno Taikō), who also portrays the real Koichi Kano.
Tenjuro Banno
Tenjuro Banno (蛮野 天十郎 Banno Tenjūrō) is a scientist with a superiority complex and the main antagonist of the series. He is also father to Kiriko and Go Shijima. He was one of Krim Steinbelt's colleagues, but he secretly held a grudge against Steinbelt after the man created the Core Driviars. Fifteen years before the events of the television series, Banno attempted to create an artificial life form that can transcend humanity, but the dead ends in his research slowly drove him mad by the time he convinced Steinbelt to share the Core Driviarto provide him with the Core Drivar technology that he used to create the Roidmudes. Steinbelt was horrified at his colleague's depravity after he watches him torture Roidmude 002 who he had made impersonate a businessman that had slighted him. Steinbelt turned his back on Banno, who secretly stole the man's mind link technology as well. Banno completed the Roidmude technology on his own, implanting within them a desire to eradicate humanity, and allowed the completed Roidmudes to fatally wound himself so he could upload his mind into a computer tablet, as well as kill Krim Steinbelt. The tablet ultimately ended up in the hands of Brain, who uses the tablet to reset rogue Roidmude Cores. Banno also caused the first Global Freeze after releasing the Roidmudes in northeast Asia, particularly in Japan, the Koreas, and Russia. Though Go later manages to steal the tablet from Brain to save his father, Banno has been pretending to be hostage to the Roidmudes, as he wants to manipulate the Kamen Riders for his own ends. He reveals his true colors when Kiriko is abducted by the Tornado Roidmude. With the help of Roidmude 004, Banno creates a copy of the Drive Driver as the Banno Driver (バンノドライバー Banno Doraibā) and then removes the Core of Roidmude 006 to house his mind and transform into Kamen Rider Goldrive (仮面ライダーゴルドドライブ Kamen Raidā Gorudo Doraibu). He reveals he has no love for his family and considered them his slaves like he treats the Roidmudes. As Goldrive, Banno seeks to initiate the second Global Freeze, but this time he seeks to propagate it worldwide by using himself as the fourth Roidmude to power the machine Sigma Circular, even planning on sacrificing Medic to complete his plans. Brain's self-sacrifice to save Medic does not thwart Banno's plans, as his energy is enough to power Sigma Circular, using the Special Situation Defence Center (特殊状況下防衛センター Tokushu Jōkyōka Bōei Sentā) as his base of operations. Roidmude 004 manages to save Banno from being apprehended by the Kamen Riders by self-destructing allowing his escape, but Banno as Kamen Rider Goldrive is confronted one last time by Kamen Rider Chaser and Kamen Rider Mach. He defeats both Kamen Riders and prepares to kill his own son, but Chase transforms into Mashin Chaser one last time and temporarily stops Kamen Rider Goldrive, leading to his own death. Go, pushed over the edge by Chase's admiration of humanity at his death and Banno's callous response to it, uses the Signal Chaser to transform into Kamen Rider Chaser Mach, ultimately destroying Banno's body in Roidmude 006. With his consciousness still remaining in the Banno Driver, Go reverts his transformation and uses the Shingou Ax to destroy the Banno Driver, ending Banno's reign of terror on humanity all while his father pleads for mercy despite all he has done to the Roidmudes and his family.
While within Brain's tablet, Banno has the ability to manipulate data in various ways. He can produce tentacles that can attack and deliver painful electric shocks, heal people infected by Roidmudes by restoring their bodies to normal, and he can even produce a digital shield to protect people from Roidmude attacks. As Kamen Rider Goldrive, his appearance is based on both versions of Kamen Rider Drive Type Speeds, such as the current Drive Type Speed helmet and Proto Drive's body armor, while his power is similar to that of an Over-Evolved Roidmude, or rather, he himself is the Over-Evolved Roidmude, and is able steal the arsenal of compatible Kamen Riders, including the Shift Cars and Signal Bikes, until Rinna Sawagami develops a special data coating that protects them from falling under his control, but not their weaponry.
Tenjuro Banno is portrayed by Masakazu Morita (森田 成一 Morita Masakazu).
Roidmudes
The Roidmudes (ロイミュード Roimyūdo) are androids that wish to usurp humanity as Earth's dominant species. Designed by Professor Banno as life forms capable of evolution like humans, his friend and colleague, Krim Steinbelt unwittingly, provided him with the necessary prototype Core Driviars to complete their development. With their numbers estimated at 108 constructed, they were purposely programmed by Banno to attack humans. They rebelled against their creator upon activation and began a full-scale attack on the planet in an event called the Global Freeze (グローバルフリーズ Gurōbaru Furīzu), which later turns out to be a set up for Banno's plans to rule the world, having stolen Krim Steinbelt's mind uploading technology to ultimately become a Roidmude himself. The Roimudes are responsible for the phenomenon known as Heavy Acceleration (重加速 Jūkasoku, colloquially referred to as "Heaviness" (どんより Don'yori)), described as the sudden physical sensation of slowed time caused by extraordinary decelerated movement. The Roidmudes can use devices called Viral Cores (バイラルコア Bairaru Koa) for the purpose of sustaining, empowering, and evolving their existence.
There are three natural phases in a Roidmude's evolution: Minor Roidmude (下級ロイミュード Kakyū Roimyūdo) forms, Advanced Roidmude (上級ロイミュード Jōkyū Roimyūdo) forms called Evolved Forms (進化態 Shinkatai), and Giant Roidmude (巨大ロイミュード Kyodai Roimyūdo) forms. The Minor Roidmudes come in three variations: Cobra-Type (コブラ型 Kobura-gata), Spider-Type (スパイダー型 Supaidā-gata), and Bat-Type (バット型 Batto-gata). Each Minor Roidmude is set apart from others of the same type by a unique breastplate holding their numbers which is the essence of the Roidmude and is called the Roidmude's Core (コア Koa). As long as the Core is not destroyed, a Roidmude can revive their body with a Viral Core. If these Roidmudes copy the appearances and memories of their targets and gather enough information, they can evolve into Advanced Roidmudes. Unlike Minor Roidmudes, Advanced Roidmudes develop a distinct personality that reflects their unique appearance, and are also able to produce a Heavy Acceleration that affects large parts of the city. If Roidmudes use more than one Viral Core at one time, they can change into Giant Roidmudes that resemble their respective Viral Cores. They are currently operating in the shadows to fulfill an ultimate agenda that requires four Over-Evolved Roidmudes. Any Roidmude deemed a threat to their goal will be put on trial by Brain, Medic, and Heart, and if necessary, be dealt with by Chase to be reformatted back into a Minor Roidmude.
After Chase defects to the Kamen Riders' side, the Roidmudes gain a new method of evolution from the Neo Viral Cores (ネオバイラルコア Neo Bairaru Koa) that Freeze developed. The use of a Neo Viral Core allows a Minor Roidmude to fuse with a human host body to instantly assume a red-colored Advanced form called a Fusion Evolved Form (融合進化態 Yūgō Shinkatai) through symbiosis with the human host, forcing the Kamen Riders to save the human within them before destroying the Roidmude.
If a Roidmude's certain emotion intensifies and exceeds a specific limit, the Roidmude can evolve into a gold-colored ultimate Advanced form called an Over-Evolved Form (超進化態 Chō Shinkatai). The Roidmudes' main objective is to have at least four of them achieving this state, reaching their so-called "Promised Number". This has only been attained by Freeze, Brain, Heart, Medic, and Tenjuro Banno as Kamen Rider Goldrive. It is Banno's plan to have four Over-Evolved Roidmudes in order to instigate a new Global Freeze that this time will propagate across the whole world instead of just northeastern Asia by sacrificing one of the Roidmudes (intended to be Medic) to power Sigma Circular. This leads to a series of events that culminates in the Roidmudes defecting to help the Kamen Riders as well as the ultimate destruction of all Roidmudes on Earth, thus saving the world from Banno's Global Freeze.
In the film Kamen Rider × Kamen Rider Ghost & Drive: Super Movie War Genesis, changes in the past due to the machinations of the Da Vinci Gamma makes it so the Roidmudes were never destroyed, and none of them remember having gained empathy for humanity. However, Chase and Roidmude 072 still remember their human emotions and help the Kamen Riders and humans out. After the Da Vinci Gamma is destroyed, history is restored to what it once was, and the Roidmudes all fade out of existence.
Heart
Heart (ハート Hāto), or rather the Heart Roidmude (ハートロイミュード Hāto Roimyūdo), is an imposing figure always wearing a red trench coat, serving as leader of the Roidmudes stationed in Japan after the Global Freeze. Originally Roidmude 002 (Spider-Type), his human guise is modeled after a businessman who refused to invest in Banno's research. He has a jovial and showy figure who likes referring to fellow Roidmudes as friends. He has the ability to activate the Dead Zone (デッドゾーン Deddo Zōn), an uncontrollable overwhelming power. Prior to assuming his current form and capturing Proto Drive, he murdered his creator and even Heart's own savior, Krim Steinbelt, unaware that the two survived when their minds were separately transferred into Brain's tablet computer and the Drive Driver, respectively. Heart's emotional stimulant is the joy he finds in facing a worthy opponent, and Heart finds this opponent in Shinnosuke as Kamen Rider Drive, not only for his strength, but for his honor. Heart eventually achieves Over-Evolution when recognizing Kamen Rider Drive as an equal. When Heart learns of Banno's survival, he makes it his principle concern to deal with the threat his creator poses. When chasing Banno, Chase understands Heart's reasons behind hating humanity as being because of Banno himself, and he tries to convince Heart to reconcile with humanity in order to set things right to stop Banno's madness. Heart refuses his offer and prefers doing things his own way due to their conflict in the first Global Freeze. After Medic is being reprogrammed into by Banno, Heart sacrifices himself to save the Kamen Riders in exchange for Medic's life. He is captured by Banno, but he has already decided to prevent the mad scientist's evil plans on his own, but Banno's use of a Grim Reaper Roidmude as another hostage forces Heart to work with him. After Brain's sacrifice to save Medic's life during the process to start Sigma Circular, Heart helps the Kamen Riders fight Banno and destroy Sigma Circular. Once Sigma Circular is destroyed, Heart decides to settle things with Shinnosuke as he has suffered a mortal wound during the ensuing battle. However Shinnosuke instead makes his peace with the dying Roidmude.
Heart is portrayed by Tomoya Warabino (蕨野 友也 Warabino Tomoya).
Brain
Brain (ブレン Buren), or rather the Brain Roidmude (ブレンロイミュード Buren Roimyūdo), is responsible for collecting and managing information on the Roidmudes. Originally Roidmude 003 (Bat-Type), Brain copied the identity of the intelligence agency's programming deputy director Mitsuharu Kineta (杵田 光晴 Kineta Mitsuharu) while escaping into cyberspace to evade Proto Drive during the Global Freeze. He has a stoic and no-nonsense personality, and detests chaos. As such, he is irritated by the fact that all Advanced Roidmudes are those with brash, disorderly personalities, and he is in charge of reformatting the Roidmudes that Chase has captured. Brain sees Kamen Rider Drive as dangerous to their goals. He has the ability to inflict attacks on his target's nervous system, and can hack into nearby technology by tapping on his glasses. He despises any unruly behavior, even amongst his comrades, and is constantly irked by the idea that the unruly Roidmudes tend to be more powerful. Brain also serves as Heart's advisor but is wary of Medic's increasing influence on him, leading to Brain being overcome with envy for Medic, an envy that Freeze reveals to be Brain's emotional stimulant. Brain later assumes the alias of Sou Noumi (能見 壮 Nōmi Sō)[lower-alpha 4] after siding with Freeze, presenting himself as a consultant from a Paranormal Science Institute sent to review the Special Investigations Division to trick Shinnosuke into attacking him so he would be suspended from the police force and as Kamen Rider Drive for attacking a human. After Freeze's demise, Brain decides to assume his Over-Evolved Form by using a Neo Viral Core to form a symbiosis with Nira to use the human's envy towards Eisuke Tomari as a booster agent. It takes all three Kamen Riders to defeat Brain, but his number survives. He is then subjected to torture by Medic, until he regains his old body back. He witnesses Banno's awakening as Kamen Rider Goldrive in horror, and apologizes to Heart for his previous indiscretions while warning him that Medic is under Banno's brainwashed control. Brain goes on the run to keep himself from being used by Banno in the second Global Freeze, and is ultimately placd under the Special Investigations Division's protection. Brain ultimately decides to help Heart save Medic by allowing himself to be captured, and he sacrifices his life to save her from being used to activate Sigma Circular.
Brain is portrayed by Shota Matsushima (松島 庄汰 Matsushima Shōta).
Medic
Medic (メディック Medikku), or rather the Medic Roidmude (メディックロイミュード Medikku Roimyūdo), is responsible for healing and altering a Roidmude's body and Core. Originally Roidmude 009 (Cobra-Type), she played a role in the Global Freeze and copied the appearance of Misuzu Hatori (羽鳥 美鈴 Hatori Misuzu), a human ballerina who was a hospital patient having developed paralysis and amnesia after a car crash, a situation only exacerbated by Medic's care for Misuzu's dog who she believed was lost forever. The night of the Global Freeze, Medic found an injured Heart, and took care of him. However, after the Global Freeze ends, Medic enters a catatonic state that is only ended by the energy gatherd by the Volt Roidmude. The revived Medic assists Heart and Brain in their tasks to achieve their Over-Evolved states. She is also responsible for reprograming Chase after he nearly regains all of his memories as his former life as Proto Zero, ultimately leading to the creation of the Grim Reaper unit when Chase becomes the Roidmudes' defender. According to Freeze, Medic's emotional stimulant is "devotion", possibly out of her desire to please Heart. Despite being a heartless Roidmude, she has Misuzu's kinder side intact within her, such as her affections for Misuzu's supposedly lost dog. However, her emotions are twisted as a result of synchronizing with other Roidmudes. Her appearance changes depending on whether or not Misuzu's kindness or other Roidmudes' twisted minds are in control of her emotions. After Banno transfers himself into his own Drive Driver, Medic becomes the first of his new victims. She attempts to rescue Misuzu from the man responsible for the car crash, her boyfriend, and conversations with Kamen Rider Drive ultimately lead to the boyfriend's arrest. Despite being manipulated by Banno, her loyalty towards Heart leads to her evolution into an Over-Evolved Form. However, her reprogramming turns her into Banno's obedient puppet who attacks anyone (even Heart) at his commands. Banno plans on using her as a vessel to activate Sigma Circular, but Brain's selfless sacrifice to save her leads her to regain her memories and control to mourn for his death and rejoin Heart to stop Banno. When she helps the Kamen Riders and Heart stop Banno, she is still weakened from nearly being used as a sacrifice for Sigma Circular, and she tells Heart and Kamen Rider Drive to go on without her. She is ultimately destroyed by Sigma Circular, but not before she uses her powers to heal Shinnosuke's wounds and thanks him for helping them regain their freedom.
Medic is portrayed by Fumika Baba (馬場 ふみか Baba Fumika).
Freeze
Freeze (フリーズ Furīzu), or rather the Freeze Roidmude (フリーズロイミュード Furīzu Roimyūdo), is the leader of the other Roidmudes and the first of their kind as Roidmude 001 (Cobra-Type). Freeze, along with Heart and Brain in their Minor Roidmude states, killed their creator Tenjuro Banno before going after Krim Steinbelt. Roidmude 001 also led the Global Freeze prior to the start of the series, having been the cause of the event as he has control over an even stronger version of Heavy Acceleration. During that time, he had assumed the form of Soichi Makage (真影 壮一 Makage Sōichi), secretary of the National Bureau of Defense (国家防衛局 Kokka Bōeikyoku), in order to keep an eye on the police forces. After assuming his current form, Freeze gained the ability to use snowflakes to suppress memories. The only person who was immune to this was Eisuke Tomari, which revealed to Freeze that his emotional stimulant is "humiliation". When Brain asks for help after he is bested by Medic as Heart's subordinate, Freeze becomes personally involved in the fight with the Kamen Riders by providing Roidmudes Neo Viral Cores that allow them hasten their evolution by selecting compatible human hosts to fuse with. Freeze also gains Go Shijima as an ally (who is secretly undercover) as he personally works to remove Shinnosuke from the police force, while also using him to complete his evolution. Once resurrected in his Over-Evolved Form, Freeze nearly kills Shinnosuke, but he is brought back to life with Mr. Belt's help and Freeze is destroyed by the newly transformed Kamen Rider Drive Type Tridoron. Freeze is initially believed to be the one responsible for Eisuke's death, but in his last words confesses that he was not the culprit. However, he was present at the time of Eisuke's death, and witnessed the man's murder at the hands of Mitsuhide Nira who Freeze had used to manipulate the police department from behind the scenes.
The Freeze Roidmude is one of the three Roidmudes that are brought back from the dead and faces off against Shinnosuke until being destroyed by Kamen Rider Ghost.
Freeze is portrayed by Masami Horiuchi (堀内 正美 Horiuchi Masami).
Roidmude 004
Roidmude 004 is a Spider-Type Roidmude who is Banno's right-hand man. Before the Global Freeze, 004 copied Krim Steinbelt's identity before Steinbelt transferred his mind into the Drive Driver. However, Roidmude 004's mind would later become corrupted, leading to his deactivation. Banno eventually reactivates him to serve as his subordinate, helping Banno become Kamen Rider Goldrive, hunting down Brain, and developing the Sigma Circular. He poses as a future version of Krim Steinbelt who became the evil ruler of a world where Roidmudes are the dominant species. He is defeated in battle by Kamen Rider Drive Type Tridoron, but survives and attempts to destroy the Kamen Riders, as well as Medic and Heart, by self-destructing himself. However, he fails when Kamen Rider Deadheat Mach uses his power to save everyone before Roidmude 004 explodes.
During the events of Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Future, after Roidmude 004 plants the chip in Mr. Belt and Mr. Belt is destroyed by Shinnosuke to apparently prevent the dystopian future ruled by Roimudes, Roidmude 004 becomes the leader of the numberless Roidmudes in the future. He sends various Roidmudes to hunt down rebel humans, and personally sends Roidmude 108 to kill Eiji Tomari to disguise himself as the Kamen Rider during Roidmude 108's time in the past to enact a stable time loop.
Roidmude 004 is portrayed by Chris Peppler.
Grim Reaper Unit
The Grim Reaper Unit (死神軍団 Shinigami Gundan) is a division of remodeled Minor Roidmudes that serve as Medic's subordinates. They take over Mashin Chaser's duties to eliminate rogue Roidmudes, destroying them completely instead of just resetting them. They are adorned with capes that give them a cockroach-like appearance and are armed with Hell Scythes (ヘルサイス Heru Saisu), guns, and claws.

Prior to being kidnapped by Shocker, Kyoichiro was once a race car driver who sought to win anything he can. Through a History Modification Machine (歴史改変マシン Rekishi Kaihen Mashin), surviving members of the Shocker organization kidnapped Kyoichiro and converted him into a cyborg before sending him back in time to defeat the Double Riders. Without Kyoichiro knowing, just in case if he regained his consciousness back, Shocker also turned him into a vessel of Rider Robo (ライダーロボ Raida Robo) for the Great Leader. Prior to carrying out his mission, Kyoichiro is sent to test his skill against Go Shijima during the events of Shuriken Sentai Ninninger vs. Kamen Rider Drive: Spring Break Combined 1 Hour Special and spares the Kamen Rider as he is not the one he is after. Kyoichiro is then sent back in time to the year 1972, defeating the Double Riders after they defeated the Gel-Shocker organization. This causes time to be altered, with a restored Shocker becoming a world power with only a few Kamen Riders remaining, namely Yuto Sakurai (Kamen Rider Zeronos), Go, and Takumi Inui (Kamen Rider Faiz), who together attempted to save the Double Riders upon discovering that their history has been corrupted. In this new time line, Kyoichiro finds himself on the run from both Shocker and some Kamen Rider resistance groups before Shinnosuke, Yuto, and Go try to find a way clear Kyoichiro's name and change history back to normal. He is targeted by the Kamen Riders (known as Shocker Riders in that timeline), even Kamen Rider Faiz who is only after him to restore the world to normal. Kamen Rider 3 is later re-brainwashed while sacrificing his life to have Kamen Rider Zeronos escape first. It is ultimately revealed that Kyoichiro was not brainwashed, and his role as a rogue Kamen Rider was just a mere ruse that he wanted to become the strongest Kamen Rider and used Shocker to feed his obsession of defeating all of Kamen Riders endlessly. However, he still does not yet realize that he is still being used by Shocker itself, as a vessel for the Great Leader's use to modify history via the Rider Robo. The following day, he and his Shocker goons find Yuto and capture him. However, he is confronted Shinnosuke, who has his memories of history restored to normal. He who challenges Kyoichiro to a race on the next day, which he accepts but only if he can keep both Yuto and Kiriko Shijima hostage. During the race, Kamen Rider 3 uses the TriCyclone's weapons and Shocker Riders (including Mashin Chaser) as shield to win for Shocker. However, his dirty tricks are counteracted by Kamen Rider Drive's remaining allies, including Kotaro Minami as Kamen Rider Black RX, Kamen Rider Faiz, and Kamen Rider Mach. Kamen Rider Drive tries to tell Kamen Rider 3 that he should try to win without any dirty tricks, because racing with his actual skills instead of cheating makes him a winner in his heart regardless of winning or losing the real race, and asks if Kamen Rider 3 regrets killing the original Double Riders prior the timeline alteration in the past. Kamen Rider 3 refuses and says the deaths do not matter, as long he vows to become the strongest Kamen Rider there is, but he loses the race in the end. He ultimately accepts his loss as a sign of good sportsmanship, realizing his error. However, the Great Leader uses him to activate Rider Robo to attack the surviving Kamen Riders and those who defied Shocker. With the last of his own willpower, Kyoichiro sends the original Double Kamen Riders to the future to restore the Shocker Riders' memories to normal. He breaks free of the Great Leader's control and helps the other Kamen Riders fight Shocker, while Kamen Rider Drive and the Shuriken Sentai Ninninger team destroy the Great Leader's Rider Robo form, which Kyoichiro realizes is the source of his own Kamen Rider powers. Before the timeline returns to normal, Kyoichiro bids his Kamen Rider allies a farewell, but promises that he will meet them in the restored timeline, where he is a human once more and supported in his racing endeavors by the Tachibana Racing Club and BOARD.

However, the Eiji that Shinnosuke and the others meet in the present time is actually Roidmude 108 who killed Eiji in the future and assumed his form before traveling to the past to personally cause the second Global Freeze. Unbeknownst to Roidmude 108, Krim Steinbelt had created mind link technology to upload his mind to any other equipment related to the Drive Driver system like the Tridoron Key. Eiji used this to upload his consciousness into the Shift Car Next Special, which is ultimately used by Shinnosuke to transform into Kamen Rider Drive Type Special to destroy the evolved Paradox Roidmude. Shinnosuke and Genpachiro Otta manage to track Okamura down, but the Newton Ghost Eyecon also draws the attention of a Gamma Commando and Kamen Rider Ghost himself. The fight between the Gamma and Kamen Rider Ghost allows Okamura to escape capture, again, and in the confusion he takes Kiriko hostage. Shinnosuke manaes to track him down back to where he and Hayase had originally cornered Okamura before the first Global Freeze, but this time Shinnosuke manages to arrest Okamura without anyone getting hurt.
