Lomond is a village in Vulcan County, Alberta Canada. It is located at the intersection of Highway 845 and Highway 531, approximately 74 kilometres (46 mi) southwest of Brooks and 49 kilometres (30 mi) east of Vulcan. The village is a farming service community. Lomond was named for Loch Lomond, Scotland.

Demographics

In the 2011 Census, the Village of Lomond had a population of 173 living in 80 of its 102 total dwellings, a -1.1% change from its 2006 population of 175. With a land area of 1.28 km2 (0.49 sq mi), it had a population density of 135.2/km2 (350.1/sq mi) in 2011.[1]

In the 2006 Census, Lomond had a population of 175 living in 79 dwellings, a 2.3% increase from 2001. The village has a land area of 1.28 km2 (0.49 sq mi) and a population density of 136.5/km2 (354/sq mi).[2]

Government

The village is governed by a village council comprising a mayor, and two councillors, and is administered by a village chief administrative officer.[3]
