St. James Park is a chemical tanker.
Hijacking
On 28 December 2009, the MV St. James Park was hijacked by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden. [1]
It was traveling from Tarragona, Spain to Tha Phut, Thailand, with 26 crew members from the Philippines, Russia, Georgia, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Poland, India and Turkey. Its cargo was 13,175 tonnes of EDC (1,2-Dichloroethane). The USS Chosin (CG-65) answered a distress call from the tanker.[2][3]
