Michel Breuer (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈmɪ.ʃəɫ ˈbrøʏ̯.ər], born 25 May 1980 in Gouda) is a Dutch footballer who currently plays for Eerste Divisie side Sparta Rotterdam.

Club career

Breuer started his professional career with Excelsior Rotterdam. In Summer 2004 he moved to SC Heerenveen. He became captain of the Heerenveen team at the start of the 2008–09 Eredivisie season. He previously worked at a local secondary school in Heerenveen as a security guard. In July 2012 Breuer left Heerenveen after eight years and signed with NEC from Nijmegen. In January 2014, he was sent on loan to Sparta Rotterdam. After his contract had expired in June 2014, he signed a permanent deal with Sparta.
