Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky (born November 13, 1992 in Karlstad) is a Swedish racing driver. She started racing at the age of 12 on go-karts. Seven years later, in the autumn of 2011, she stepped up to touringcar racing when she took part in FIA Women in Motorsport's shotout, where she finished second and got the possibility to race in Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup 2012. In series she stays for 3 seasons, in 2014 she has become the first woman in history to win a race of Volkswagen supported championship. At the end of the season 2014 Volkswagen decided to end their one make cup racing. Audi took their place and decided to start a new series for 2015, the Audi Sport TT Cup. 165 persons applied for the series, and 18 drivers where chosen to compete in the cup, where Mikaela was one of them. Best result in 2015 was a 3rd place at Norisring with 2 fastest laps overall. From 2016 she is racing in the German series ADAC GT Masters with the Audi R8 LMS. For the 2017 season, she was selected for the Audi Sport racing academy.

Personal Life

Mikaela's grandfather was Freddy Kottulinsky, winner of Paris-Dakar Rally in 1980. Her father, Jerry Åhlin, was racing between 1983-1991 in European Rally Championship and between 1984-2000 he took part in six WRC races in which he scored 1 point. Her mother, Susanne Kottulinsky, participated between 1982 and 2002 in European Rally Championship at the wheels of Opel, Volvo, Audi and Mitsubishi. Even her younger brother, Fredrik Åhlin, is rally driver. From 2011 to 2016 he was racing at the wheel of Ford Fiesta in WRC and in 2017 he runs in the British Rally Championship with Škoda Fabia.
