National City is a fictional American city appearing in the American TV series Supergirl. Portrayed as a prosperous and massive city, National City first appeared in the pilot episode on October 26, 2015. It is home to Supergirl, also known as Kara Danvers, or by her Kryptonian name Kara Zor-El.
History
Sometime in 2013, there was an earthquake in National City. In September 2014, there were wildfires that killed eight people.[1] During her first heroic act, Kara Danvers saved flight 237 from crashing in National City.[2]
Etymology
National City derives its name from DC Comics' former company names, National Periodical Publications, previously known as National Allied Publications and National Comics.
