National Awards

NCAA Top Ten Award

Nebraska student-athletes have won more Today's Top 10 Awards than any other school in the country. Regarded as the nation's most prestigious academic award, Nebraska has had 17 recipients. The award honors male and female student-athletes throughout the country based upon the criteria of athletic achievement, academic achievement and community involvement.[1]

Academic All-American of the Year

The CoSIDA Academic All-American-of-the-Year award is given annually to the top student-athlete in each sport as voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America. A total of 10 Huskers have won 15 times with winners coming from seven NU sports.[2]

Honda-Broderick Cup

Sarah Pavan received the highest athletic honor that a female college athlete can receive, as she was named the 2006-07 Collegiate Woman Athlete of the Year. The Honda-Broderick Cup not only recognizes outstanding athletic achievement but team contributions, scholastics and community involvement as well.[3]

William V. Campbell Trophy

Two Huskers have won the William V. Campbell Trophy: Robert B. Zatechka in 1994 and Kyle Vanden Bosch in 2000. Formerly the Vincent dePaul Draddy Trophy, this award is given to the college football player with the best combination of academics, community service, and on-field performance. It is considered by many to be the "Academic Heisman."

Academic All-Americans

The Nebraska Cornhuskers lead the nation with 315 academic All-Americans in all sports, all teams. Nebraska also leads the nation in Academic All-Americans in football with 107.[4]
