Nur Movement
From Infogalactic: the planetary knowledge core
The Nur Movement (Turkish: Nurculuk) is a religious movement in Turkey based on the writings of Said Nursi (d. 1960), which promoted the concept of the Quran as a "living document" which needed to be continually re-interpreted.[1]
The group suffered greatly from political oppression and arrests during the 1960s and 1970s.[2] The group fragmented substantially in the 1970s and 1980s, resulting in offshoots such as the Gülen Movement.[3] However, Gulen Movement is believed to be ideologically different than the original Nur Movement.
