Oribe (pronounced OR-bay),[citation needed] is a Cuban born American hairstylist.[1]

In 1987 he moved to New York to become a movie star.[2] It was while working at Garren that Oribe received his first editorial credit from GQ.[3] Oribe then started working with photographer Steven Meisel and make-up artist François Nars.[4] In 1987 he established his first salon at Parachute.[5][6] In 1990 he opened his Fifth Avenue salon at Elizabeth Arden, New York,[7] introduced to the cosmetics company by the model Vendela[8]
