The Rajasthan Film Festival Award ceremony (also known as the RFF Awards) is a set of awards presented annually to honor and encourage both artistic and technical excellence of Artists in Rajasthani Cinema, Rajasthani and Hindi language films made in Rajasthan. The inception of awards began in 2013 and the ceremony is held in Jaipur (Rajasthan) every year in the month of September. The most recent one was held in Jaipur Bagh Rajasthan.

People from all over the world come to get a firsthand experience of the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan. So it is of utmost importance to keep this culture alive and throbbing. Rajasthani Cinema is the best medium to promote this rich culture.

The Main aim of Rajasthan Film Festival Is to prevent the extinction of Rajasthani Culture and to preserve the distinct ideas, cherished beliefs, spiritual and abstract concepts which only this culture embraces. By preserving Rajasthani Cinema we honor a people’s heritage, enhance our understanding of history, and save the culture for our future generation. Furthermore, Rajasthan Film Festival provides opportunity and platform to the talented artists of Rajasthan by boosting their morale so that they can give the best in their respective fields.

History

Geographically, Rajasthan is the biggest state in the Country. It is a land of brave warriors and legendary figures and the arts and culture of Rajasthan are widespread in different parts of the world. Rajasthan is a forerunner in many fields but is lagging behind in the field of Rajasthani Cinema. There was a time when Rajasthani Cinema was very well known and famous Bollywood actors and actress exhibited their talent in Rajasthani cinema. In 2001 Jagmohan Mundra’s film ‘Bawandar’ won many International awards but since then the progress of Rajasthani Cinema has slowed down, which is a matter of concern.

"Kanchan cassettes & series" initiated Rajasthan Film Festival on 28 September 2013 which is achieving great heights day by day. Since 2013, Rajasthan Cinema is progressive and many good films are being made. After organizing the first Rajasthan Film Festival, Rajasthani film-makers and Artists are also excited because their hard work is appreciated by jury and they are getting recognition among general public.

The Award ceremony has expanded from a one-night event to a two-day event, hosting various events and activities related to the Rajasthani Cinema.

A day before the award ceremony a special discussion is conducted on the condition and direction of Rajasthani cinema.
