Riza Durmisi (born 8 January 1994) is a Danish professional footballer who plays as a left wing-back for the Spanish club Real Betis. He has represented Denmark at several youth levels and made his debut for the senior national team in 2015.

Early life
Riza Durmisi was born as a 3rd generation Dane to an Albanian family from the Ishoej Ghetto "Vildtbanegården" in the outskirt of Copenhagen.[1][2]

Season 2012–13
Durmisi made his debut in a 1–1 home draw against Esbjerg fB on 26 August 2012, and had four substitute appearances during the season.[3]
Season 2013–14
On 24 June 2013, Durmisi signed a three-year contract which tied him to the club until the summer 2016.[4] Durmisi got officially promoted to the first team and handed jersey number 17.[5] He became a frequent starter, first as a left winger and later as a left wing-back.[6] On 10 November he scored his first goal from his position as left wing-back in the 3–0 home victory against Aarhus GF.[7] He caught attention from foreign scouts including the French Ligue 1 side Toulouse after scoring 3 times in 33 games that season.[8] and the Turkish giant Fenerbahce.[9]
Season 2014–15
On 31 July Durmisi made his UEFA Europa League debut from the starting line up in the 3–0 away defeat against the Belgian side Club Brugge.[10]
Durmisi revealed during the Christmas break of 2014-2015 that he was approached by the Football Federation of Macedonia, due to his Macedonian roots. He stated at the same time, that the Danish national team was his first priorty if the national coach Morten Olsen would look his way. Olsen's comment was, that Riza should focus on proving his worth on the pitch rather than in the press. Olsen pointed at the same time, that Riza was in the scope.[11][12]
During the winter break in January he revealed that his ambition was to take a step at either the Dutch Eredivisie or the German Bundesliga.[13]
Season 2015–16
On October 2, 2015, after months of negotiation and a replacement of his big mouthed agent Sedat Duraki, Riza finally signed a contract extension which tied him to the club until the summer 2018. The contract reportedly includes a €2 million buyout clause. The contract was finallized by his new agent Nikalo Juric.[14]
At the end of 2015 Riza got highly rewarded for his continuous high performance and a great year by winning the "Brøndby IF Player of the year 2015" reward in front of players like Daniel Agger and Thomas Kahlenberg.[15]
By the end of March Riza revealed that he got a lot of attention from clubs all over Europe and his expectation is that the season 2015-16 will be the last season in the Brøndby jersey for this time. Riza also said, that his overall goal is a match in Real Madrid's white shirt.[16]
On May 23th Riza penned a five-year contract with Real Betis after weeks of media rumors. Real Betis released Durmisi’s €2 million buyout clause and replaced it with a €20 million buyout clause on a contract tying Riza Durmisi to the club until the summer 2021.[17]

Season 2016–17
International career
On 8 June 2015, Durmisi made his senior international debut for Denmark in a 2–1 home friendly win against Montenegro at the Viborg Stadion, as a 72nd-minute substitute for Simon Poulsen.[18] Riza played the final 7 games in Morten Olsens campaigne as Denmarks national coach.
On March 1st. Åge Hareide took over as Danish national coach from Morten Olsen. Riza Durmisi got called up for Hareides first two games against Iceland and Scotland on 24 and 29 March 2016 where he played full time as left wingback in Hareide's new 3-5-2 system.
