On 31 July Durmisi made his UEFA Europa League debut from the starting line up in the 3–0 away defeat against the Belgian side Club Brugge.[10]

Durmisi revealed during the Christmas break of 2014-2015 that he was approached by the Football Federation of Macedonia, due to his Macedonian roots. He stated at the same time, that the Danish national team was his first priorty if the national coach Morten Olsen would look his way. Olsen's comment was, that Riza should focus on proving his worth on the pitch rather than in the press. Olsen pointed at the same time, that Riza was in the scope.[11][12]

During the winter break in January he revealed that his ambition was to take a step at either the Dutch Eredivisie or the German Bundesliga.[13]

Season 2015–16

On October 2, 2015, after months of negotiation and a replacement of his big mouthed agent Sedat Duraki, Riza finally signed a contract extension which tied him to the club until the summer 2018. The contract reportedly includes a €2 million buyout clause. The contract was finallized by his new agent Nikalo Juric.[14]

At the end of 2015 Riza got highly rewarded for his continuous high performance and a great year by winning the "Brøndby IF Player of the year 2015" reward in front of players like Daniel Agger and Thomas Kahlenberg.[15]

By the end of March Riza revealed that he got a lot of attention from clubs all over Europe and his expectation is that the season 2015-16 will be the last season in the Brøndby jersey for this time. Riza also said, that his overall goal is a match in Real Madrid's white shirt.[16]

On May 23th Riza penned a five-year contract with Real Betis after weeks of media rumors. Real Betis released Durmisi’s €2 million buyout clause and replaced it with a €20 million buyout clause on a contract tying Riza Durmisi to the club until the summer 2021.[17]
