Rompin is a district located in the southeast of the state Pahang, Malaysia. The district covers an area of 5,296 km and located 130 kilometres from Kuantan, the capital city of Pahang. It is bordered to the north by Pekan, to the west by Bera, to the south by Johor, and to the east by the South China Sea. The capital city of the district is Kuala Rompin. The Department of Statistics Malaysia estimates the population of Rompin was 110,286 on 2010.
History
Rompin was believed opened by Datuk Pahlawan Ahmad in 1888, as small fishing village.
