Roop Mallik is an Indian biophysicist who works on nanoscale molecular motor proteins that transport material such as virus, mitochondria, endosomes etc. inside living cells. These motors generate forces of the order of pico-Newtons.[1]

Early Life and Career

He was born on 2 March 1970 at Allahabad. His father is a retired mechanical engineer. He completed his post graduation from Allahabad University. He later joined Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai for doctoral research. [2][3] He received Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Awards-2014.[4][5][6]
