Ryan Cummins (born 14 April 1984) is an English cricketer, who represented Leicestershire County Cricket Club. He was born in Sutton, London.
Ryan's junior cricket was played at Beddington Cricket Club where he played at all levels and he does still play for Beddington when released by Leicestershire. He also played in junior age groups for Surrey County Cricket Club and for his high school (Wallington County Grammar School).
Cummins is a young right-arm fast bowler who joined Leicestershire from Loughborough UCCE. His highlight was an appearance in the 20/20 finals of the 2006 season bowling 3 overs for 40 runs but taking a fine catch.
He struggled to hold down a place in the Leicestershire team and was released at the end of the 2008 season. He joined Northants in the winter of 2008 before being released next season.
Ryan retired from cricket and is now a keen squash player where he has steadily climbed the rankings in the MGOMD big leagues. On 12 March 2013, Ryan recorded his most impressive win to date, edging a tense match with Stephen "Backhand" Cooke 3-2 after being locked 7-7 in the final game. The Evening Standard reported Ryan was reduced to tears after the match as he described the win the "biggest sporting achievement in his life thus far".
Ryan is well known for his inability to keep track of time and is often late to previously specified 'meet times'. He regularly cites seemingly lacklustre factors to explain his lateness such as "I had to have breakfast", "I got up late", "I had to pop to Covent Garden to get some flowers for Dad", "I was cutting the grass" and "I was day dreaming and got carried away".
