Club career
Pitt started his youth career as a standout player picking up awards and being selected for representative teams including: 2000-01 Rideau St Lawrence Kings League Player of the Year, selected for Ontario Provincial Under-17's, 2004 Ottawa South Canadians Rookie of the Year, Vanier Trophy winner and the 2004-05 Jr B Metro Division Rookie of the Year.[1]
Pitt started playing junior hockey for the Orleans Blues (now Gloucester Rangers) in the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) in the 2005-06 season. Scott scored 138 points from 104 games in two seasons for the Blues, leading the Blues for points in 06/07 and fourth highest in the CJHL before moving to university hockey.[2][1]
Scott's impressive displays for the Blues led to him participating in the 05/06 CJHL Rookie All-Stars game, 2006 Canadian Junior Amateur Hockey League prospects' game as well as the 2007 CJHL All-Stars selection.[1]
Pitt was drafted in round 7 number 130 to the Ottawa 67's in the OHL Priority Selection but chose to play college hockey instead when he was only offered the second line centre position at the 67's.[3][1]
In 2007 Pitt moved to Erie, Pennsylvania to attend university at Mercyhurst University. There Pitt played for the university team Mercyhurst Lakers in the NCAA for four seasons. By the end of his uni career Pitt had played 156 matches for the Lakers, scoring 132 points from 47 goals and 85 assists. Scott had a 0.85 points per game average.[4]
On March 17, 2011, the Florida Everblades of the ECHL signed Pitt to his first professional contract.[5] On July 29, 2013, Pitt left North America after two seasons and signed a one-year contract with German second tier club, Eispiraten Crimmitschau of the DEL2.[6] After playing a year in Germany, Pitt elected to spend the 2014-15 season in Scotland, playing in the EIHL for Glasgow-based, Braehead Clan.[7]
February 25, 2015, Scott signed on for the 2015 AIHL season with the CBR Brave.[8] Scott made his debut for the Brave in their opening AIHL match for the season against the Sydney Bears,[9] which the Brave won 4-2 with Pitt scoring the opening goal of the Brave season and getting an assist for the fourth.[10]
Pitt had a great debut season in the AIHL with the Brave, scoring 42 points from 19 games[11] including two hat tricks against the Sydney Ice Dogs[12] and Sydney Bears.[13] Pitt was one of the leading points scorers in the AIHL before it was announced he would not be completing the season with the Brave as Pitt would be re-joining his former club Braehead Clan in time for their training camp ahead of the start of the inaugural Champions Hockey League campaign.[14] Scott played his final game for the Brave in the 2015 season on the July 25, 2015 away in Penrith against the Sydney Bears, scoring two goals and getting one assist for three points as the Brave beat the Bears 7-3.[15]
