Snapdragon (Sheoke Sanada) is a Japanese supervillain in the Marvel Comics Universe. She first appeared in Marvel Fanfare vol. 1 #12 (1984) and was created by Ralph Macchio and George Pérez.
Fictional character biography
A skilled martial artist, Snapdragon was hired to defeat the Black Widow in Japan.[volume & issue needed] She succeeded on her mission, but Black Widow soon regained her composure and quickly dispatched Snapdragon.[volume & issue needed] Later, Snapdragon joined Superia's Femizons and became one of her lieutenants.[volume & issue needed] There, she found long-time enemy Diamondback.[volume & issue needed] The two were trained by Anaconda in Taskmaster's Academy,[volume & issue needed] but Diamondback had subsequently dishonored Snapdragon in some form.[volume & issue needed] While on the S.S. Superia cruise ship, Snapdragon apprehended Diamondback and threw her off, leaving her to drown.[volume & issue needed] Diamondback eventually recovered and received the super-soldier serum in one of her misadventures, and during their rematch, choked Snapdragon to death.[volume & issue needed] Her body was returned to Japan and cremated by her brother, Kono.[1]
Later, the name Snapdragon was taken by Rachael Leighton after she began working for Superia as payment for finding a cure for the glitch in the super-soldier serum.[2]
A woman calling herself Sheoke Sanada appeared in Moon Knight.[3] If this is the original Snapdragon details of her resurrection are unknown.
Powers and abilities
Snapdragon possesses no superhuman abilities other than a protective suit and a helmet with infrared sensors. She is a master in hand-to-hand combat, and skilled with various forms of weaponry.
