Steven Paul Logan (born 1965) is a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona and former United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Arizona.

Biography
Education and military service
Logan received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1988 from the University of Louisville. He received a Juris Doctor in 1992 from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He has served twenty three years in the United States Marine Corps concurrent with his civilian career, currently holding the rank of Colonel and currently serving on the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals. During his career, he has served two tours in Iraq, one term in Afghanistan and served six years as a military trial judge. He received the Bronze Star and Combat Action Ribbon for his second tour of duty in Iraq.[1]
Legal and judicial service
From 1999 to 2001, Logan served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Minnesota. From 2001 to 2010, he served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the District of Arizona. From 2008 to 2009, he served as Chief of the White Collar and Public Corruption Section in that office. From 2010 to 2012, he served as a United States Immigration Judge. From January 2012 until May 16, 2014 he served as a United States Magistrate Judge in the District of Arizona.[1]
Federal judicial service
On September 19, 2013, President Barack Obama nominated Logan to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Arizona, to the seat vacated by Judge James A. Teilborg, who took senior status on January 30, 2013.[2] Logan was one of four Arizona judicial nominees announced by Obama that day who were chosen in consultation with Republican Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake.[3]
On February 27, 2014 his nomination was reported out of the committee.[4] On May 12, 2014 Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid filed for cloture on the nomination. On Wednesday May 14, 2014 the Senate voted on the motion to invoke cloture by a vote of 58-37.[5] Later that day the Senate voted 96-0 for final confirmation.[6] He received his judicial commission on May 16, 2014.[7]
