Suresh Krissna is an Indian film director who has directed Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi films. His first independent film was Sathya (Tamil). He found fame in Kavithalaya's Annamalai, starring Rajinikanth. Since then, he has directed Veera, Baashha and Baba with Rajinikanth in the lead. He has also worked with actors like Mohanlal, Vishnuvardhan, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Salman Khan, Venkatesh and Upendra. He worked as Assistant Director under K. Balachander.[1][2][3][4] He wrote a book called My Days with Baasha about his experiences working with Rajinikanth.
Career
In 1999, he began directing the Telugu production of Abu Baghdad Gajadonga, a fantasy film with Chiranjeevi in the lead role and A. R. Rahman as composer. The project was simultaneously shot in English with Douchan Gersi as the director, but after a few days of the shoot, the film was shelved after Muslim leaders complained that the team had misused the holy papers of Quran.[5]
A further project in the early 2000s featuring Ajith Kumar and Sneha was also shelved after pre-production works.[6]
