Taras Kulakov (Russian: Тарас Кулаков), better known as "Crazy Russian Hacker",[2] is a Russian-American YouTube personality best known for his life hacks and DIY (Do It Yourself) videos. His YouTube channel, "CrazyRussianHacker", created on May 18, 2012, has over 12 million subscribers and is one of the medium's top 200 channels.

Videos

Kulakov is a moderately active Youtuber, releasing a few videos per week. As of 2024 he has over 12 million subscribers for his CrazyRussianHacker[3] channel. His videos range from ten sponge hacks to chemiluminescence in action. He is known for his sense of humor and Russian accent. He created his first channel, "origami786", on October 14, 2009 for origami tutorial videos. Later, he renamed this channel to "Taras Kul",[4] which he uses as a second channel, which has over 1.7 million subscribers. His second attempt at youtube fame came with "SlomoLaboratory" later renamed Slow Mo Lab, alongside his brother Dima.[5] His popularity sky rocketed with his third channel CrazyRussianHacker in 2012.[6] As of 2024 he has released more than 2,650 videos[7] on CrazyRussianHacker and continues to maintain the Taras Kul and Slow Mo Lab channels with additional content.

Early life

Kulakov is originally from Russia and later moved to Asheville, North Carolina where he worked at Walmart while developing his early youtube channels.[8][9]
