- 1848 – El Paso becomes part of the U.S. state of Texas per Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.[2]
- 1849 – U.S. military Fort Bliss established.[1]
- 1850 – El Paso County created.[3]
- 1873 – El Paso incorporated.[2]
- 1876 – Lone Star newspaper begins publication.[4]
- 1881
